Co-Op Engineer Interview

Co-Op Engineer
Dallas, TX (US)

I applied through college or university and the process took 4 weeks - interviewed at GAF in March 2013.

Interview Details Talked to them at the career fair, they took us out to dinner that night then called couple of us from the dinner to an on-site interview. The On-site interview process was long, you get interview by a lot of people at the plant, like 7 different interviews on the same day at the plant. Also gave us a plant tour.

Interview Question – Most questions were behavioral, some of the interviewers repeated some of the questions.   Answer Question

I applied through a recruiter and interviewed at GAF.

Interview Details There were three different interviewers. A tour of the plant was giving before the interview. Each interviewer asked one to three basic behavioral questions, for example: Can you remember a time when a team member had a conflicting issue and how did you resolve it? What are some of your goals you wish to achieve in your field of study?

I applied through college or university and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at GAF in April 2010.

Interview Details Met at the NCSU Career Fair, had a phone screening interview with a few behavioral Interview questions. Interview at plant involved a tour, and 4 individual interviews with the Plant Manager and several other salaried employees.

Interview Question – "Tell me an example of when you failed." That's a pretty common question, but it was as hard hitting as they got. The people are very friendly, and there wasn't much competition for the job.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – No negotiation.

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 2 days - interviewed at GAF in March 2012.

Interview Details There were two interviews on different days. The first was immediately following the career fair and the second was offered after that based on how the first interview went. The first consisted of two people and was a typical straightforward interview. The second time, they flew me to Dallas; there was a tour of the facilities, a presentation, and I interviewed with several people from different branches of the company. The work culture was fantastic, everyone knew everyone and were as nice as they could possibly be. Me and another student who were on the same flight that got delayed so we missed the lunch they cooked for all the interviewees so they insisted on ordering us a pizza when we arrived.

Interview Questions

Negotiation Details – There was no negotiations, they told me up front what the offer would be before we even started the interview.
