I applied in-person and the process took 2 months - interviewed at Home Depot.

Interview Details It took a few months from when I originally applied to be contacted for an interview. However, once I was, everything was quite quick (as it was summer and the busiest time). I had two interviews with he HR associate, and on the second, he handed me the orientation booklet. A long wait for contact, but very quick interview process.

Sales Associate - Seasonal Lawn and Garden
York, PA (US)

I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Home Depot in February 2013.

Interview Details The hiring process is easy as all you have to do to to their website and apply. But after you enter your info there is about 50 or more questions about your life, work and how you deal with problems. And they do change compared to what you are applying to.

As for the interview process it is some what easy. You go into a room and get asked 5 questions about different things from life to work. They do rate your answers to the questions. The better you answer the better score you get. And the easier you get the job.

Interview Question – This is a hard to just pick one. The most unexpected question will be how do you deal with problems and change.   View Answer

I applied online and the process took 2 days - interviewed at Home Depot in February 2012.

Interview Details The phone interview consisted of a few "how did you handle this situation" questions and some equal opportunity stuff. I was then passed along to an HR person who informed of the HD job fair at the Saratoga, NY store where I would be scheduled for a 1:1 interview. The 1:1 interview also had some "how did you handle.." type questions but also some questions related to home repairs and garden stuff to see if I had any idea at all about the products. I was informed immediately that I was accepted contingent upon a background and drug test. I was given the drug test form and set up for an appointment immediately. After everything was completed I received a phone call from HD to go to the orientation at the store.

Interview Question – Describe an experience you had with a difficult customer/client and how did you handle it.   View Answer

Negotiation Details – There was none. I was hired as a temporary seasonal worker-$9.25 per hour.
