I applied through a staffing agency and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at PwC in July 2010.

Interview Details Back in 2010 it include an assessment centre (30min maths test and writing a report based on provided information) and 2 interviews with Directors, all on the same day. I got my offer the next morning

Interview Question – As far as I remember, it was a general chat about my experience, nothing really difficult or unexpected   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – Non-existent, probably due to my lack of experience in this area

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 2 days - interviewed at PwC in October 2011.

Interview Details Best way to get in is get referred for a specific position. Do not ask a friend to generally refer you. Nothing will come of it. You need to research and know what position you should apply for. There will be multiple interviews on the phone before an on-site interview. Usually openings are for specific needs so tailor your resume and answers to the job description if you want the job. There are very few generalist openings.

Interview Question – I've never seen anything too crazy asked, but PwC is in a very entrepreneurial state for a big company in advisory right now. If you can't understand that work isn't just dropped in front of you to do and that you have to do things to grow the business and client footprints than it probably isn't a good fit for you.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – No negotiation, but if you do negotiate it is directly with the partner you will be working for.

Interview Details The PwC hiring and interview process was the most positive of all companies in the MBA campus recruiting program for me. The recruiting managers, junior and senior staff (including directors and partners) were all very friendly and helpful throughout the networking and interview events. The written case interview in the final round was also much more realistic than those at other firms.

Interview Question – PwC Advisory has many groups/teams that specialize in various industries and functions. One important question to be able to answer is, "Why this group over other groups?". As I could have fit into more than one group based on my background, it was difficult to explain why I wanted to join one over the other.   Answer Question

I applied through college or university and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at PwC in February 2013.

Interview Details 2 rounds: 1st round is mostly behavioral, with 1-2 interviewers and focuses on "what you bring on the table". They pay attention to the behavioral part and your stories, rather than technical skills and cases. People who are personable and demonstrate they are good fit will advance to 2nd round

2nd round is 3 interviewers (1 behavioral - 1 case - 1 "fit"). Case is sent in advance to candidates to prepare, and case questions are given on interview day. If 1st round was on-campus, then 2nd round is mostly held at a main PwC office. Case is hard and industry-agnostic. Interviewers are Directors, MDs, and Partners.

Interview Question – Cannot determine most difficult question - the case was challenging and demanded end-to-end approach, had to deliver solution in no more than 20 mins   Answer Question

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 4 months - interviewed at PwC.

Interview Details Was introduced to Capital Projects by a partner. From there, the process was pretty rigorous. Be prepared for no less than 4 interviews. I had 6 in total, from HR Manager through Principal. Interviews were great and team seems strong. Biggest concern was HR switched managers during final hiring so salary negotiations became a bit more difficult. In the end got a solid offer though.

Interview Question – How much do you currently make? Don't believe what you read on the internet! It was a relief stating my salary. Why would I want to go through a 4 month hiring process only to find out that the expectations were way off?   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – The compensation is good to start: 3 weeks off, shut down during Christmas. Tough to change. I did ask for a sign-on bonus though and got it.

Interview Details 3 Month process. Interview was a bit difficult. 1)Phone call verification 2)Phone Interview with PwC manager 3) Again another Phone Interview with another manager 4) Direct office inperson interview with 2 managers, 1 Director and with 1 Partner 5) Final phone interview with another Partner. After the final phone interview they extended the offer with market rate salary.

Interview Question – Nothing unexpected. All questions related to the previous work stream   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – No place for negotiation. they offer the market rate and accepted it.

I applied through college or university and the process took 5 days - interviewed at PwC.

Interview Details Went through the On Campus Recruiting process and was selected for the 1st round. This round consists of two one on one fit interviews on campus. The interviews were very straight forward. Be prepared to talk about your experiences in detail. One of the interviewers was part of a recent acquisition. He did not seem to be happy about the new culture. So he had a couple of questions on dealing with new culture, acquisitions etc. Mostly usual questions - Why consulting, Why PwC etc.

Interview Question – One question that I struggled with was - "Tell me three good reasons why I should not hire you. And don't try to give me weaknesses that can be turned into strengths".   Answer Question

I applied through college or university and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at PwC in October 2013.

Interview Details Numerous on-campus events (about 4) to learn about the firm and network. These are important to attend and indicate your interest.

First round consisted of two 45 minute "behavioral" interviews, back-to-back. These were more conversational than behavioral, with questions designed to understand your decision-making process. The first round interviews are with the vertical you apply for (Financial Services, Healthcare, and Products & Services Industries), and not necessarily for the competencies and practice group you showed interest in.

Second and final round is on-site "Super Day", in Chicago/NYC/Boston depending on the practice group you are chosen to interview for. There is a pre-interview reception the evening before where you'll get to meet people in the practice group and possibly the people who will be interviewing you.

This round consists of a case interview and two behavioral interviews, including one with a partner. The case is sent 48 hours in advance but the problem that you will review is revealed when you arrive at PwC for the last round of interviews. They give you 45 minutes to prepare slides that you will present to a director or manager as they were the client.

The two behaviorals are more conversational, similar to the first round. I believe PwC is really looking for fit (and if they can stand being stuck somewhere with you), at least with MBA interviewees.

Interview Question – Random questions like why I chose my school, what my favorite classes were and why. I wasn't expecting questions like that for an mba-level hire.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – No negotiation for campus hires. They were clear with our campus advisors that they would not negotiate.

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 2 months - interviewed at PwC in February 2011.

Interview Details I was referred by a colleague from business school to PwC. Here is the communication breakdown:

1) Initial email from HR
2) Phone call with HR (about a week after initial email)
3) Phone call with a Manager (about 2 weeks after phone call with HR)
4) Follow up email with HR scheduling all day interviews (about 2 -3 weeks after Manager call)
5) 4 in person interviews in NY office with 1) Partner 2)MD 3)Director 4)Senior Associate
6) Post interview email from HR (same say as in person interviews)
7) Call from HR with offer! (the next day after in person interviews)

This occurred over a 2 month period from start to finish so be patient and professional with your correspondence.

Interview Question – Explain to me a time where you had a team member who did not pull their weight on a project. How did you address this issue?   View Answer

Negotiation Details – I was able to negotiate my base salary up a couple thousand dollars. I just spoke with HR and explained I had other offers on the table, however, I really wanted to work for PwC.

I applied online and the process took 6+ weeks - interviewed at PwC in September 2013.

Interview Details Applied on PwC website, recruiter contacted a month later. One phone interview with Manager in August first week. Waited for over a month for in-person interview at Chicago ofice. Met 5 people on same day in Chicago office . 2 Partners, 1 Project Manager, 1 Director and 1 Manager. Confirmed selection after 1 week, extended offer 2 weeks there after and accepted during the same week.It was a good experience overall, wait was tough though. Start Date is in second week of November

Interview Question – I was interviewed as Experienced Hire, lot of questions were on my experience with different technologies, where I want to be in 5 years, Ideal job description, few behavioral questions   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – No negotiation. It is what its is.
