Be careful to get it in writing if you need to have flexibility!

    Pros

Team I was on had mostly good people and I genuinely cared about doing a great job for the team and work was challenging.
    Money was good

    Cons

Absolutely no flexibility for working parents or even just doctors appointments!
Manager had NO IDEA what I did but team loved me and knew I was a plus but all I got from him was how bad I was
Manager was only in it for himself and if you weren't on messenger he would think you were off eating Bon Bons and not working when all I wanted was peace to focus on my work!
    No career growth at all

    Advice to Management

Get rid of Inflexible managers - promised flexibility but then none when I started and I had a 60-90 minute commute each way to work

    Pros

The bar is set very low. You don't need to be competent to work here. As long as you keep your mouth shut and do the minimum to get by you'll likely have a job for life.

    Cons

You'll get bored and it will kill your career. You'll be surrounded by tons of corporate toadies. DO NOT go here if you are in any sort of technical field. This is NOT a tech company. They are firmly rooted in old school corporate culture.

    Advice to Management

Take a second look at all the kingdom building within your organization. Promotion from within isn't always a good thing. I'm specifically talking about IT and even more specifically Specialty IT. Those folks get paid waaaay too much. They'll never leave and you're actually encourage them to hold the status quo.

Great Benefits, however, difficult environment to work, underpaid, overworked.

    Pros

    Benefits good
    Stable company
    Company overall is growing

    Cons

Overworked. Wasn't uncommon to put in 60-80 hours a week.
Underpaid compared to others within the IT field, particularly given the hours worked.
IT Department restructuring and was a constant source of change.
    Little to no training.
large number of managers with a few workers. Needed more people actually doing the day to day work.

    Advice to Management

Try to create a better work environment for employees.

    Pros

Memories of the good old days. It was once fun to work here and to come in to work each day.

    Cons

It was once fun to come to work. The environment was of teamwork and collaboration. Since the new president was installed you come in just to impress him. You have to laugh at his jokes and pretend that the endless stories of his business ventures abroad are interesting. Worse is that he has stripped us of all that was worth while. Just horrible leadership. He doesn't inspire anyone. People just put up with the horrible culture he has created long enough to find a way out. Compensation is horrible because he has turned to making cuts so that his numbers look good. He stifles innovation at every turn. Which is rather childish and insecure so people rarely feel worthy of contributing.

    Advice to Management

We desperately need mature level headed leadership in this company. We need professionals with tangible industry experience leading the Specialty Group.

    Pros

    Great co-workers, ok work hours

    Cons

Hired for call center and made the job sound like it would be a great fit for me. Training was horrible, not enough training and constantly micro-managed. Treated like a child and constantly reprimanded. Company let all former customer care go to save money and should have kept other call centers. Customers highly irate and mad about change.

    Advice to Management

    Made a big mistake

    Pros

Work place is nice. They have great soft drinks and hot beverages also.

    Cons

People are nice front of your face. You will earn rewards for the work you do, but when they don't need you they will say you have poor work performance your quality was bad. Make so many excuses. It would not be right to show them good performance certificate they given to you to prove them wrong. They like people with poor quality with high production.

    Advice to Management

I really hope management think twice before making such decisions. Its all about your company's reputation. After all its your company.

    Pros

Pay is almost on par with industry standards. Benefits are average.

    Cons

Elitist Management structure. They have no clue, want no clue, anyone beneath Director level is considered peon level an unworthy to speak to or deal with. Management has no authority. Directors are what most companies consider managers. Managers more like Leads. Sycophants are the ones promoted, not those who make the company work. Career opportunities are not abundant in the Chicago area. They promote managers with NO experience in management at all. Buffalo Grove is filled to the brim with inexperience management and elitist upper management. Treat professionals like kindergarten children.

No vision for future product, competition is wiping the floors with us due to disassociated management and marketing.

    Advice to Management

Become more human. interact. Stop by and actually SEE what it takes to run a company instead of listening to the greenies you hired to manage professionals. Stop locking yourself in offices and actually walk around and speak with people.

    Pros

    Serves as great professional experience.

    Cons

Fast paced, focus is not you but the patients. This is regardless to weather conditions also. There is also a lack of consideration of employees being with their family during the holidays.

    Advice to Management

Be more organized and considerate of the individuals that are constantly taking care of the patients and what they need.

    Pros

Good health benefits, paid vacation, and 401K.

    Cons

Poor leadership, poor organization. Too many executives uptop that you can't even keep track of who they are or how they even contribute to the company. No bonuses for the people that actually do the work and no respect for hard working employees.
