Pros – Free cars, gas, insurance. Got to drive nice cars like Chargers, etc.
Cons – It feels like going to college and having a job at the same time. The MTC program was a killer. You do online classes and if you fail, then management looks down at you. I worked for the company for 5 months and I had managers who treated me poorly, told me which car I could or could not drive, got really furious when I drove a car I wanted, even though it was in my guidelines to do so. I was never good in school, so I failed every assessment on the mtc program. I expected it to be a job, not school. If I wanted to take assessments and classes I would have just gone to college. This company worked me about 50-60 hours a week and bosses got furious and pissed off for the smallest thing and used vulgar language. My manager always got pissed off, and cursed everyone out just because he wasn't having a good day. I am so thankful to not be with them anymore. A free car and 40k a year is not worth the stress.
Advice to Senior Management – Get rid of the MTC program, train managers hands on, stop cursing out your workers because without them you cant run your office. Fire or put in place all the stubborn big boss managers who say: do as i do and not by the book.

Former Employee – worked at Avis Budget full-time for less than a year
Pros – Test drive cars, its a job.
Cons – No Breaks, low pay, lack of management, no benefits. The Agency Operator does not communicate with you on what days to work.
Advice to Senior Management – Find another Agency Operator that can do their job and communicate much better.

Current Employee – been working at Avis Budget full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – The salary, possible quarterly and annual bonuses, company car, free gas, and insurance
Cons – The operation is chaotic! "Having a sense of urgency" is an understatement. Management is not valued and has a high turn over rate. Employees had more respect than employees because of bargaining agreements. LOOOOOOONG hours! Wait, maybe you didn't understand "LOOOOOOOONG hours" After calculating the amount of hours you have worked in comparison to your annual salary, you might as well work as an associate.
Advice to Senior Management – Have a sense of care for the employees and plan the operations/reservations accordingly.

Current Employee – been working at Avis Budget full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Managers are laid back don't get involved in associates confrontations.
Cons – Co worker's enjoy he say she say and small talk. Pay is not enough to put up with frustration. Old women been there for 25+ years they love to make people unhappy. Hobby location is so messy everyday its a new situation. The senior employees run new people away and corporate is trying to figure out why the turn over rate is thru the roof. Union guidelines don't make any sense you are forced to work others schedule if u have no seniority which include graveyard with very little notice even on your off days. Feels like company don't care.
Advice to Senior Management – Get rid of old gossiping ladies who are unhappy with themselves change union rules to benefit entire operation. Increase base pay because hobby isn't making as much as bush but doing 3x the amount of work.

Current Employee – been working at Avis Budget full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Can be a easy job on a slower day but turn to a extreme headache in the matter of minutes. Great selection of cars and pretty relaxed atmosphere for the most part. Pay is ok with a commission based hourly pay.
Cons – Upper management has no contact with its employees and pretty much ignores them. I rarely see any of them. Middle management is overworked and over-stressed and really doesnt care because no resolution to any problem will get solved. Very slim chance of advancement at my location. RSA's (Rental Sales) have applied over and over only to get led on and shot down. Some being there years and plenty of experience. Its who is kissing ass and the most of it. Everything is based on senority. If you are new, then you get screwed after your 90 days are up. Your schedule is now the worst. You work all holidays. You want vacation? You better hope nobody above you already took those days. Pay is a tiered so if you sell something and bring in that commission then you can lose that money with the next rental that doesnt want anything. Very Unfair and legal stealing from their own employees. Management can move those tiers to where they see fit for your location. Ive seen a steady decline in commission since Ive been there with little change in sales on my part. Most people have lost all hope in going anywhere in the company and are just there to collect a paycheck of somekind. Alot of shifty thieving older employees that get turned the blind eye to when caught doing something they arent suppose to. Swept under the rug. Ive heard other locations make great money just not this one. If you apply online through the website, you may hear something back in 4-6 months. Even if your a current employee. You can apply within but unless management likes you, your not getting anywhere. People come and go soo much its hard to keep track of names.
Advice to Senior Management – Connect with your employees and tell them whats going on in the business. Come out from your little offices and maybe get to know some people and watch and learn to whats going on. Not by posting a memo on a board hoping everyone will read it. Stop stealing their paycheck!!! If they sell for you then reward them, not dip into their own pockets.
