    Pros

BB&T is great to employees. They're a very fair Cosby, and there's plenty of opportunity to advance from within. The average tenure here is over 15 years, and I can see why. Good culture.

    Cons

In an effort to hire more millenials, the company sometimes looks more at degree than skill. Salaries lag the rest of the industry, but we're improving. The aversion to telecommute is a little strange given that most of the industry offers some type of flexible schedule or location. Systems were dated, but there are major technology efforts in flight to address.

    Advice to Management

Don't be too eager to hire too many of the young ins. They may be cheaper but they lack practical experience. Bb@t has a great culture. Don't let that change in an effort to appeal to the young and hip. The company has survived by making smart, long term focused decisions.

    Pros

The pay was great and the benefits were nice. The place had great culture, rotating around the perfect client experience.

    Cons

old system, constant system errors, outdated technology, cheap, pushy in credit card sales, and way too much drama for a bank. It's not an ideal work environment, and the system is extremely sensitive and error prone. Plus, they cross train their employees and set quota's that are IMPOSSIBLE to reach. The company has a great culture and atmosphere, but without updating to the current era (their system is 30 years old), they will fail.

    Advice to Management

Please update your systems and set APPROPRIATE quotas for your employees. You'll end up stressing them out and they will quit. In addition, please lose the extremely republican attitude within the work place. it's not making your impression any better.

    Pros

Great training, if you ever have a question about something you can call branch info for help.

    Cons

Not open about what is going on. You never get to interact with top managers so they don't get to know you, but these are the managers that control your career. They move employees around too much which makes the clients nervous. They have started moving away from their great mission statement and no longer are putting communities and employees first, it is all about the shareholders. If you make a big mistake you could be let go.

    Advice to Management

Promote people who have a college degree, who work hard, and show up everyday. Upper management needs to do a better job of going out there and knowing their employees. Upper managersneed to start working towards moving the company back to the Mission Statement and Core Values. If they did this would be the best bank to work for again but until then I hope they don't don't lose all of their great employees because they are stressing them out too much about hitting numbers every month instead of doing what needs to be done for the clients.

    Pros

Company has great benefits and is mainly loyal to their employees. Usually work with competent team members who are willing to learn. Training program is excellent.

    Cons

It is hard to move up within the company, especially to break into management. Company likes to promote from outside the bank which makes it hard to stay loyal because of the risk of getting stuck. Raises are once a year and are usually very minimal.

    Advice to Management

Pay and promote the employees like you want to keep them. It does not seem that the company is willing to put the time or effort into its current staff, causing many to be picked up by other companies with better pay.
