I worked at Danaher full-time for more than a year
Pros – Metric driven organization with high levels of accountablitly. Heavy focus on Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement. Upper management provides tools necessary to achieve goals.
Cons – Metrics are everything at Danaher. They strive to make sure everyone knows the rules of the game and what both winning and losing looks like. However, if you are in a division that is suffering financially the game is impossible to win.
Advice to Senior Management – Become more involved with projects throughout the month and not just for montly reviews.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

I have been working at Danaher full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Great focus on continuous improvement in a collegial, non-blaming environment. Great opportunities for career growth across the many companies Danaher owns. Wide variety of science, technology and environmental companies under the Danaher umbrella. Senior management is excellent. Lots of highly intelligent people in the company.
Cons – Sometimes the decentralized nature of the company means several operating companies are duplicating efforts. Like most publicly-traded companies there is an intense focus on meeting Wall Street's numbers each quarter.
Advice to Senior Management – Continue the focus on keeping the unique culture that makes Danaher great.

I have been working at Danaher full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Stable, well-run company that performs in down-turned economies. The Danaher Business System is a proven success. Open communication amongst operating companies is fantastic and leads to further success.
Cons – Expectations are high, so associates are driven to work longer hours when a lot is on the line. Travel can be a bit too much at times.

I have been working at Danaher full-time
Pros – Recognition for results, fast paced, very good environment for driver personalities.
Cons – Difficult to maintain work life balance. Will take as much as you allow. You must have incredibly honed task management and prioritization skills to thrive.
Advice to Senior Management – Grow talent organically. There are a number of very talented employees with runway. Stop cycling MBA candidates with no experience through jobs they have no prior skills with. They're in the role just long enough to make a mess for others to clean up then they get promoted. It leads to poor morale among those who drive true accomplishments.

I worked at Danaher full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Results focus
Profitable company
DBS
People
Cons – Focus on #'s at the expense of people
politics (not everywhere - but getting worse)
HR is becoming more powerful = more BS and less ability to move quickly
Advice to Senior Management – Don't let all of the OP's talent leave - remember how we got to be this great of a company (DBS and great OP's guys!)

I worked at Danaher
Pros – Danaher is a great place to work if you are process orientated, highly structured, and results driven. In addition, small operating companies are a plus because you get the feeling of working in a smaller company with the benefits of a larger one.
Cons – Danaher can be a tough place to work in terms of work life balance and stress. In addition, the very flat management structure means that sometimes there is no-where to get promoted to.
Advice to Senior Management – Walk the talk when it comes to your 'the best team wins' values. Do this by treating employees with respect and compassion. Some times the last $ cut can have lasting negative impacts on the team and its motivation.
