Current Employee – been working at Dr Pepper Snapple Group full-time
Pros – Freedom, decent shifts, physically demanding, benefits immediately
Cons – High turnover because of low pay. Low morale so people don't care about the job and then they wonder why stores hate them.
Advice to Senior Management – Pay your employees more instead of spending all your money on buying new unsuccessful products. With a lower turnover rate and higher morale, you will be making more money and you won't have to hire new people. Hiring new people results n loss of sales due to orders not being put away, drug tests and background checks, and paying for training. If this company could just provide more opportunities and pay to employees, it would be a great place to work. No wonder everyone leaves for Pepsi or coke after a few months here.

Current Employee – been working at Dr Pepper Snapple Group full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – I like the hours I work, going in early and being done at an hour that leaves me with a good chunk of after noon/early evening is really nice. I do a kind of subcontracting and work with someone who has a route and he has me merchandise.
Cons – The lack of any kind of medical, dental, 401k, stock option, or any other fringe benefits is a really bad con. It has made it hard to stay with the company. I do a kind of subcontracting and work with someone who has a route and he has me merchandise.
Advice to Senior Management – Add way for the men and women who run your routes to offer better benefits.

Former Employee – worked at Dr Pepper Snapple Group for more than a year
Pros – out working without managers over you..well besides the in-store managers..the time you get off daily depends on how hard you work
very laid back management
Cons – you walk in the door as a swing merchandiser...meaning you will be working behind people everyday...whenever the regular merchandiser comes back on his route.. he will tell the manager you messed his stores up..no matter how good of a job you did...most of the sales reps suck..if you never did this type of work you dont know how important a sales rep is to your day
Advice to Senior Management – keep a close eye on all the merchandisers..not just the ones the regular route merchandisers complain about

Current Employee – been working at Dr Pepper Snapple Group full-time for more than a year
Pros – -Compensation is above average for the work
-Self-directed learning allows motivated employees to grow their knowledge in the job areas they want, but needs to be kept in check and standardized
-See a strong desire from management to improve, but does not have a cohesive plan for it.
Cons – -Very far behind the times, just implementing 5S. While I'm not a fan of "flavor of the month" type projects in general, the company seems stuck back in the early 90s and just starting to move forward with putting an emphasis on statistical process control and continuous improvement.
-Unions - standardized pay scales based entirely on time worked instead of pay for performance only gentrifies the employees and does not promote continuous improvement and excellence.
-Lack of standardized procedures or training both in-plant and across the company.
Advice to Senior Management – Training - STANDARDIZE IT! I understand that the company is relatively new, having only been around for 3 years, but the culture is too old and needs to move faster. Utilize the strengths of each of the small companies and bottlers acquired over the years to improve each plant.

Former Employee – worked at Dr Pepper Snapple Group full-time for less than a year
Pros – -There's probably at least one good District Manager there (Manages a group of Account Managers)
-You constantly get to interact with people (Could be a Pro or Con)
-Weekends and Holidays off
Cons – -10-12 hour work days
-Pay is no that great (Relief Acct Mgr: 33k/yr, Acct Mgr: 33k-55k/yr
-Under constant pressure to sell products to stores that have little interest in those products, though that's pretty standard for most sales jobs.

Former Employee – worked at Dr Pepper Snapple Group
Pros – Great pay if you want the cases and they give them to you.
Great Benefits.
Work at your own pace as long as everyone satisfied and finished in timely manner.
Cons – Respect for family needs.
Take cases off if "making too much"
Not doing your job if done too early and everyone else satisfied.
Expect you to do more than what is entitled helping others who cannot finish a route.
Advice to Senior Management – Everything was great when i worked there until i had a hardship in my family and took few days off... not to mention when accounts and cases taken from my truck and given to others. Worked hard to get those cases to make the money and for them to be taken away takes out of my kids mouths... reason why i always worked commission based jobs... more cases you want and can handle you should get them.... stop taking large accounts off 1 truck and give him/her 10 accounts with same cases.... make no money!
