    Decent place to begin career

Executive Assistant (Current Employee) New York, NY (US)

ProsThe company offers top class benefits and they express genuine interest in the well being of employees. People are fun to work with and the work can (sometimes) be interesting. Often fast-paced, which keeps things from becoming droll.

ConsPay is so-so and raises are minimal. Bonuses are hit or miss. There is little to no ladder to climb. As an assistant there is almost no hope of moving up. As a Researcher there is possibility to advance, but there is a ceiling. You cannot become a consultant by working here. Consultants are hired from outside and they all have 15+ years of experience and an advanced degree. This is a place to gain experience, not a place to build a long-term career.

Advice to Senior ManagementMore financial motivation (i.e. fairer raises and bonuses) and more opportunity for advancement might improve work productivity and motivation and increase retention rates.

ProsI work on fascinating client assignments and meet interesting people in the process of finding the right executives for my clients.

ConsThe research career path is limited and becoming a consultant is not possible.

Great colleagues and access to clients at the very highest level

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsA wonderful brand built over 50 years of work at the most senior level
Some of the nicest and most collegiate people you could hope to work with
A strong basis of fairness that underpins all major decisions
Highly multinational, no single country dominates

ConsHas historically been highly conservative, although this has been changing in the last couple of years
The partnership structure means decision making requires considerable consensus

    Advice to Senior ManagementKeep experimenting

    Great culture, great learning experience

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsEgon Zehnder's US offices have great workplace culture with professional, friendly researchers. Working there is a huge opportunity for professional growth and gaining a variety of experience across different industries.

ConsEgon Zehnder is a very horizontal organization; researchers can take on more responsibilities within research but there is no path toward consulting within the company.

    Great firm

    Partner (Current Employee)

ProsGood values. At the core, they do try hard to care about people. The least transactional of all the big search firms. Global footprint and good exposure to global work. . Smart people. Very service oriented internally and externally,

ConsLots of cliques similar to high school. A popularity contest. Inward focused. Leadership and cultures have wide variance by office and practice group. Varied degrees of transparency. Frugal.

Advice to Senior ManagementBuild greater leadership consistency across offices and practice groups. Shift from popularity to more weight on results. Invest more in strategic growth rather than exclusively organic. More aggressively broaden services beyond acquisition.

    Strong learning experience

    Senior Researcher (Former Employee)

ProsVery smart people at the firm. The consultants are very collaborative and work hard to educate researchers on the search process

ConsThey work hard and cut support staff too quickly, which means the workload is always high. The global nature of the firm of leads to late night/very early morning calls.

    A Wonderfull Place to Work

Associate (Former Employee) New Delhi (India)

ProsThere are Team Leaders, Managers, VPs but none of them would treat you as a BOSS. It's a very transparent organization.

Conswork may be a little monotonus

Advice to Senior ManagementDo not just celebrate laxmi pooja, dashahra, holi and christmas but also go for Eid. :-)
