I have been working at FedEx Office full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

I've been in and out of the company twice over the last decade. The promotion potential is there and they do favor hiring from within. Dependent on your type of location the hours are greatly improved from when I originally started. Great Benefits.

    Cons

Pay is low to mid range (after seniority.) If you know where to look you can find a range of salaries based on your location. My pay has always been between the low and mid ranges.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

People Service Profit. People have to feel like their being taken care of otherwise they will leave the company for greener pastures which will place a strain on those left behind.

    I worked at FedEx Office

    Pros

Excellent work life balance, culture is excellent.

    Cons

Lots of competition for advancement. Project Managers are considered to be analysts or advisors vs. managers as is the practice at most companies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Embrace project management and adopt a matrix environment. Bring in more seasoned PMs if needed to help you accomplish this. The business must focus on well orchestrated change.

Former Employee - Business Center Manager in Pueblo, CO (US)

I worked at FedEx Office full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Supportive coworkers were the key pro. There are lots of people who have great skills and are eager to help other employees out.

    Cons

We were always understaffed. This kind of job requires time to consult with customers and frequently there were 10 customers in the lobby and one employee scheduled. It was hard getting time off unless someone was willing to sacrifice their own days off to cover.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

While everyone is well intentioned, there is a disconnect between what home office sees and what actually is going on in center. Home office folks should really try to see the day to day operations by coming in to centers not to judge, but to see how things actually run, especially in remote centers.

I worked at FedEx Office full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Benefits were great. Paid time off, sick time, floating holidays and holiday pay. Tuition reimbursement.
My coworkers were the best! Loved working with them.
Flexible schedule, very flexible with school.
Opportunities for advancement within the company.

    Cons

Customers. The WORST thing about this job was the customers. Annoying and irritating or would get upset if you couldn't do something for them on the spot as if there's not a self service area where you can do your own work. Want you to do everything for them like go to their email and attach something, no do it yourself. Complain about prices like there isn't the library or staples.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good work!

    Pros

Good pay, team oriented, kept busy

    Cons

Too many employees sell out of pocket, which makes for irregular customer service.
Company cares more about profits than employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give back to all your employees, not just upper management.

    Pros

Big Brand name of company. One can get to learn a lot of new tools and technologies in market.

    Cons

At least for their IT in Services department, salary sucks big time. They generally recruit from tier 3 and tier 4 Universities only. I guess, considering that the pay is also not so great.
