I have been working at H&M part-time for less than a year
Pros – It's an easy job! The pay is very competitive, they offered me a,most a dollar more than my previous job!
Cons – You get NO hours, I've been there for about 3/4 weeks and I'm still not trained! I'm doing everything off of previous experience and better than them! The store is a disaster! The supervisors? RUDE. They gave out my phone number to all the other girls without my permission now they text me all the time to cover their shifts!
Advice to Senior Management – Train your associates!

I worked at H&M full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Fast pace, affordable clothes, decent discount
Cons – Everything about the job. Horrible upper management, unrealistic expectations, lack of store support, over worked and under paid. Back stabbing environment and childish behavior by the district team. No work life balance. I would never recommend anyone to ever work for this company.
Advice to Senior Management – Get it together! To much favoritism when it comes to promotions. Follow the companies values. Upper management needs to thank their managers once in a while. Work on your people skills.

I worked at H&M full-time for less than a year
Pros – Pay is good
Benefits are good
Cons – Favoritism
Racism
Drama
Competition from every level
Bad training
This European company has several different rules that are hard to get use to; they expect for you to know everything as soon as training is over. And in the real world we know this isn't realistic.
H&M pay is good but I would not recommend to anyone who is professional and wants a real job.
Everyone here is fighting for a promotion; and their straightforward approach isn't practical in a job setting.
Advice to Senior Management – Please update your policies when it comes to management and how they talk to employees.
Stop putting workers against each other for promotions (creates a hostile environment)
Learn to embrace diversity

I worked at H&M part-time for more than a year
Pros – 25% Off Clothes
Made a load of new friends
Cons – Unrealistic goals
Understaffed
Bitter management, rude, uncaring about personal issues
Social life is cut off due to horrible hours
Management is dishonest, and they will create a cause to fire you and keep seasonal and new staff. I worked there for over a year no issues and came in one day 3 hours early only to be pulled aside, put in a room and verbally shouted at by 2 loss prevention employees accusing me of saving 4 old receipts (which they claim they found buried in a trash can, why they would be digging in a trash can I don;t know), stealing a managers code to open the register which is very much impossible and than stealing from the registers. How much money? 50 dollars? 100? 1000? No 14 dollars. I would never in my life take from that company. The LP guy claimed the store was filled with cameras and would I like to admit anything? The store had 0 cameras a when I said I'd love to see the footage of me trying to smuggle 14 dollars away I was refused and fired immediately. My advice would to avoid this store. That isn't a proper way to treat an employee. Besides that they are not flexible with school, so no sympathy when you are sick and when asked why I'm forced to stay till 2am and open the next day at 6am, their response is "too bad"
Advice to Senior Management – Show some compassion for those beneath you

I worked at H&M full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – - Benefits
- Discount (25%)
- Paid Vacation for management/full time associates
- Staff.
Cons – - Extremely understaffed
- HR and Store management put business needs over staff needs constantly
- Lack of supportive management (Management that doesn't back the store policy, has no sympathy towards personal issues, gives the staff no incentive to work hard)
- Stressful
- Poor overall treatment of staff
- Country/HR management who have no interest in the staff that makes them money, very rarely acknowledge your existence, as well as, reward store management, but not the sales associates.
- Underpaid.
-Extremely high turnover
Advice to Senior Management – HR and Store management need to re learn the values their company established.

I worked at H&M part-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Discount, nice clothes, good people, fun meetings.
Cons – No opportunity for growth, very huge responsibilities with low pay, over-worked, never enough staff, horrible hours.
Biggest issue was that they never increased my wage as minimum wage changed. Essentially, with 3 years of experience my wage was the same as the new peoples due to the minimum wage jump! I pointed it out to my managers and they said "employees are not allowed to discus wage so this is incorrect!"
Advice to Senior Management – Terrible job! Treat your employees better! I can see why there is such a turnover rate!

I worked at H&M full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – open door policy/flat management system within stores allows for staff to work together to meet daily sales targets.
the opportunities to change focus areas make for a really creative atmosphere. the main sales area usually has a focus but often sells out quickly enough for staff to style these areas/mannequins themselves.
many opportunities for quick advancement!
great clothes to wear and be inspired by, especially during designer collaborations.
lots of celebrity shoppers
Cons – high turnover rate! likely due to how daunting it is to get a complaint to be taken seriously.
stressful atmosphere - the lineups are endless and staff are often left to deal with them alone.
low pay for a lot of work - the expectations of staff when hours are cut or when staff is low is unreasonable. this extends to the expectations of both supervisors and staff members at large.
frequently understaffed - this company wants to expand, but the work atmosphere is neglected in the rat race.
Advice to Senior Management – Considering how many people work within each store, the HR team should expand beyond one regional representative. Job dissatisfaction will likely be better assessed with this investment.

I have been working at H&M full-time for more than a year
Pros – Great hard work experience & good benefits,
Cons – Worked like a slave, management is an utter catastrophic fail, biased, unfair treatment to certain employees, horrible scheduling, bad attitudes, unclear directions.
Advice to Senior Management – Most of you should be fired or not managing anyone in Atlanta, the whole management team needs to be rehired & more diverse. There is too many women bringing their personal problems to work & no men to help balance in management. You shouldn't talk to employees like children when everyone is an adult. There should be more employees on staff to help run the store instead of a ton of managers & barely any employees.
