    Pros

The company moves quickly and there is always something new to learn. Job is never boring. CEO is dynamic and has really moved the company forward over the past several years.

    Cons

It is difficult to have work/life balance. There is an expectation that things need to get done yesterday. Also too much focus on millennial sand not enough on those with experience.

    Advice to Management

Stop and take a deep breath. Don't just talk the talk. Realize that people are working way too hard and recognize it.

    Pros

Interesting varied work. Global presence. Some very capable people doing some very interesting things. A lot of opportunities in a fast growing company.

    Cons

Difficult to get noticed in a large company that has a global presence. It can be a very political place and you have to be careful not to get on the wrong side of people that can get back at you.

    Advice to Management

There are many great people at MasterCard but it seems that quite a few feel undervalued and under appreciated. Try to do better at motivating your staff and making them feel important and valued.

    Pros

met a lot of interesting people, learned a lot about corporate life and how to network with people.

    Cons

didn't work on the things that i thought I would be working on. Instead, was pulled into a lot of projects that I thought was useless.

    Advice to Management

Make sure you learn about what the interns want from the summer internship rather than randomly assigning them to teams.

    Pros

The best part was working with all of the diverse people. I got exposure to a true global environment and as such, have learned a lot from my peers. Ajay Banga turned the company around around three years ago, positioning MasterCard as a technology company vs a financial services company. Yes, it's payments, but without the technology, transactions cannot happen. I also have the utmost respect for Ron Garrow, the Head of HR. He is the most approachable person in the C-Suite. He always says hello and stops and listens. He is genuine.

    Cons

There was absolutely no career path for me. Unfortunately, when I thought I had it, there were changes. Wish I could have stayed on longer, but when you see there is no future, it is time to move on.

    Advice to Management

Give those who have 50-60% of the experience, but have good business acumen, the chance to try a new role. Don't give it all to the YoPros. I wish I was able to move more side to side in order to move up. It's their loss.

    Pros

Really good company to work for with excellent benefits such as pension, health insurance, on site parking. It has a really good work environment where you are encouraged to speak out and you are listened too. Its very flexible with start and finish time and no one is looking at the clock and they are also open to working from home.

    Cons

I honestly can not think of any cons - the salaries are not top rate but are above average but I really can not think of anything else

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what your doing - look at increasing salaries scales and bring in employee shares

    Advice to Management

Improve internal processes and engagement of younger employees.

    Pros

I really liked working for a Westchester based company. It was an easy commute which allowed for better work life balance

    Cons

There really weren't any cons. I enjoyed the company, my responsibilities, the culture and the people.

    Advice to Management

Management should continue to inspire all employees creativity and innovativeness. It's the future of the biz.

    Pros

The CEO is an amazing leader as well as many of the people holding senior management positions. They are incredibly intelligent yet humble. Diversity is absolutely embraced and the right person for the job is hired regardless of gender, culture, age etc. The culture is polite and everyone treats each other with respect. The employees are very sharp and know all aspects of the payments industry. The company embraces innovation and is a leader in emerging payment models.

    Cons

The company is very top heavy with too many people in middle management who really aren't working. This promotes a country club like atmosphere. There is a huge gap between the senior management team and the people who actually get the work done. It's the business leaders that do all the work without reward or recognition. If you want the easiest job in your life and get paid a lot for doing nothing go for a middle management position at MasterCard.

    Advice to Management

Get involved. Learn what's really going on. Conduct skip-level reviews. Promote the people who are working hard to bring innovative products to market. Make middle management accountable. Get out of your glass houses and get to know the people who are doing all the hard work. These are the people that will make you successful not the bureaucrats in between.
