    Experience at Nissan

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Rolle (Switzerland)

    ProsDynamic Company
Flexible in the work: they have the ability to react fast to changing environment
Employees can rotate between different departments easily. Change of job every 2 to 3 years

ConsFlexibility is also given by the work on Excel more than real database management. It means a lot of work duplication
    Demanding company without adequate compensation

    Not very good

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Irving, TX (US)

ProsI am a temp that have been there a year. And the only pro I seeis that I have a job.

ConsThe pay is not good compared to the work they are asking for.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you are asking for the same quality of work from your temps as the permanent employees. Then your pay and benefits should be closer to Nissan employees. And I think you should look at the fact that you are interviewing temp for positions they are already doing. Which seems to be unfair. Most companies will hire you after three mos. But Nissan have temps there for 2years that are still not permanent.

Good company with opportunity for longevity

Senior Financial Analyst (Former Employee) Torrance, CA (US)

ProsLoyal to employees create long tenures for employees. Many employees have worked with Nissan for more than 20 years. Even in times of financial recession the company worked hard to avoid layoffs for its employees.

ConsThough you may have the opportunity to stay with the company for a long time opportunity for advancement may be slim.

Advice to Senior ManagementNissan is a great place to work but would benefit from developing effective ways to develop and retain talent

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Engineer, develop and test vehicle components

Engineer (Current Employee) Detroit, MI (US)

ProsLocation is in a good area of greater Detroit area. Non union manufacturing

ConsNo carrer opportunities. One engineer is asked to do the job of 2-3 people. Long working hours. Defined pension plan was cancelled and bonuses reduced. Big disconnect between what the upper managment wants and what the company can deliver.

Advice to Senior ManagementCreate career opportunities for everybody in the company

My experience at Nissan has been overall rewarding. I have learned much about the manufacturing industry in my position.

Manufacturing Associate (Current Employee) Smyrna, TN (US)

ProsGreat benefits and time off are offered, as well as insurance (health, dental, vision), life insurance, 401k, etc. Work environment relatively clean and friendly.

ConsPromotion selection could use some work. I am by nature a fast grower/learner, and have felt stagnant in my job for quite some time. Opportunities seem to be given to others in a loose "good-ol-boy" system to people who are sorely underqualified for their positions.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive people a chance to prove themselves. Subject lower level management and line leads frequent anonymous employee surveys.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
