    Sales People Treated like "Pawns" towards The Management's Quota and Club Reservations

    ProsThey serve Starbucks coffee...and have a nice surplus of legal pads and pens.

    ConsSales Compensation and Quotas are not in line with the Industry trends and the "solution selling" messaging the company subscribes to.

    Advice to Senior ManagementTry to actually listen to the Sales People on what is going on and work accordingly to streamline instead of making "gut" like decisions or picking favorites when driving opportunities.

    Treated a 24/ 7 job like a 9 to 5. No incentives. Poor managment.

    ProsSome of the folks that work at Sungard are enjoyable to work with. The hours when employed were nice and convenient.

    ConsThe Management is absolutely heartless. When Sungard acquired Comdisco, they of course promised the world. They decided to fire people the week before christmas. Made a comment to my manager which he didn't like. F' him. I hate this place.

    Avoid like the plague!

    ProsFree breakfast on a Friday, global experience, looks good on your CV. Some very interesting clients. Lots of FTSE 100 company's and Fortune 500 client exposure.

    ConsMicromanaging to the extreme from the US and tactical. There was no strategic thinking. Heavily sales focused. Before joining I looked at the reviews on glassdoor and ignored the advice given. If you are a focused seasoned professional do not join this company as you will regret it. The US heavily micromanage and do not appreciate professionals who are qualified in their field of expertise. It's tactical fantastic, think about today and not tomorrow. Very political, only the US are looked after. Outside of the US different rules apply and you have no say or opinion. If you challenge the US or voice an opinion you will be viewed as a threat to the US who do not have a clue about strategy and are behind the times.

    Advice to Senior ManagementGet rid of the deadwood and the yes men. Review your employee Retention and the reasons why there is a high turnover of good experienced staff.

    Family feeling
    Upper Management tried to keep us positive
    Very team focused
    Great PM's

    ConsWorried about bottom line- therefore clients had to pay for upgrades which they refused to
    Seem to buy small profitable companies, bleed them of resources, layoff all staff and shut company down
    HR not effective
    Deals were hampered with clients because by accounting because of meeting revenue quota's and ownership of source code
    Farmed many jobs to India reducing staff in North America and UK

    Advice to Senior ManagementWork with staff - they are on the front lines with the clients and understand the needs and wants
    Try to remember not everything is about the bottom line - Many staff worked long hours to keep clients happy
