    Good Sales Methodology and follow up, weak on R&D and overall motivation of staff

    ProsDecent pay, diversity of people due to multiple acquisitions, global reach, good training and incentives for sales people. Some segments are doing very well with above par products and people.

    ConsToo conservative on innovation, lack of investment and ambition on R&D, synergies between various segments very limited. One weak segment can drag the reputation of the whole company down.

    Advice to Senior ManagementLimit the reach and size and stick to what SunGard does best: Back and Middle Office, Accounting systems and Risk spin-off or sell under performing segments.

    ProsI have an amazing group of coworkers, which is one the reasons that I have stayed as long as I have.
    My immediate managers are caring and genuinely look out for those people who work under them .

    ConsLack of concern for employee morale, limited ability to move up in the company, high benefit copays and stagnant salary.

    Advice to Senior ManagementWith the lack of even basic loving raises and the increased cost of benefits, many employees are making less than they did years ago.

    ConsThe typical in any small organization. long term-ers and politicians.. as long as you are not wronging anyone, it's a good organization to be there.

    The company is not what it used to be

    ProsThere are still some good projects to work on.

    ConsManagement really doesn't care about employees. Pay is becoming lower and lower day by day. This company used to be among the best paying ones, now sadly, even TCS can pay better than them.

    Good Sales organization poor sense of strategy or direction

    ProsGood Sales organization, Overall Good and well meaning people and great breadth of products + nice recognition program for successful sales

    ConsNot enough R&D expenditure and overall too many acquisitions that have resulted in a lack of shared culture and in a great difficulty to understand the company's offer. No real product strategy either and a definite lack of enthusiasm.

    Advice to Senior ManagementFocus on Financial Middle-Office and Back-Office which are the core strenghts of the company and shed the rest. Define a product strategy backed up by a serious R&D budget
    Make sure the customers and employees have a sense of direction for the company.

    ProsCompensation and benefits are better compare other Services company like Infy, Wipro, TCS etc.

    To an extent flexible work timings but that too depends on your total tenure with company and whom you are reporting to. You can get very good deal if you bargain.

    Here your salary review is done twice a year and at times you may get mid year increment. Performance payout is good , and almost 80 % of people at least manage to get minimum of 110 % of base case mentioned in the letter and almost 80% of people get 10% average hike a year. At times they pay even up to 250 % of what is mentioned in the letter.

    If you are put in right project they work life balance would be excellent.You can spend time on self learning, on your family and meet to targets easily.

    ConsAt times you get tired with doing same monotonous work. You exposure to latest technology will be very less.

    There are two many managers/lead per developers and majority of them are redundant non techie guys who do not add any value and simply do people management and at times they do not even do that.

    Very less onsite opportunities, specially for longer term.

    If your product is terminated / sunset then it difficult to find a place for you on another project/product. Job security is less but they give good retrenchment money.

    Advice to Senior ManagementVery very average static management. They are slowly running company like a service base company instead of product base company which may earn some revenue but good things of being product company are gone.

    Company may come up with IPO by 2015 and to increase the face value, they are selling of lots of less performing assets.
