ProsThis place used to be very good for working and for trying new ideas since there was a time when TIBCO was doing new things and was investing in right direction....

ConsTIBCO has zero accountability at higher management...you can fail number of times and there is no impact to your package or your promotions...TIBCO has very regular salary, it's hard to expect other benefits such as RSU, Stock since you get very less of stocks, RSU and stock price is falling...culture is good but it's not thriving place to build your career ....

Advice to Senior ManagementValue people and pay them right...Get right people for right job...don't look for leaders within the company always...please make higher management responsible for their outcome...just meeting quarters should not be goal...goal should be to show a growth potential...very ordinary salary and no great potential is not going to take this company long way...

TIbco is not only the place to work ..

Pros1. None. I did not find anything.

Cons1. Very less onsite opportunities. They send onsite senior managers only where it is not required.
2. Do not have Group Anti Corruption Law Policies. Group of some idiots and unprofessional peoples can tarnish companies image.
3. Do not have sexual harassment policies. And HR is puppet show of managers.
4. Not recommended place for Experienced peoples.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere is huge world outside tibco. Pull of some senior older managers and hire new talent.

ProsGreat mix of products. They have a dedicated, talented pool of people to work with. With the product set they've acquired, they can eventually solve almost any problem.

ConsWith so many products, it's hard to find the 'right' way to solve a problem. The company has morphed into a hard line numbers driven company where all that matters is EPS. There once was a time where you didn't have to fool yourself into thinking that the company cared about you or your career, that time was over a long time ago.

Advice to Senior ManagementRecognition, mentoring, promote from within. Embrace the decentralization, and trust employees that don't work at the mother ship.

ProsGreat technology, smart employees, good opportunities for cross-training.

ConsPoor work-life balance. Software sales is the bottom line. Management knows technology but not how to manage. No opportunity for advancement. Must know the products that make the sales (BW, EMS) to stay on client engagements.

Very good for freshers to join the industry
One of the few product based companies is Pune
Technical work is good

ConsPays well below market standards. Hard to retain people

ConsDysfunctional executive management, limited/poor marketing, too many products which confuse the markets, analysts and salesmen. Appalling process inefficiencies and disconnected back office systems.

ProsThere are some very clever people at TIBCO, some of the smartest and best that I have ever worked with in my entire career. Some of the products work very well.

ConsTIBCO wishes to become a 2 billion dollar company. Unfortunately, they continue to do the same things, yet expect vastly different results. There are many, many structural problems that will cause TIBCO to fail in the next few years:
1) Sales. The sales force and sales model is very, very broken. The market was advised of TIBCO's sales execution problems in recent quarters. Were there? Of course. Was it the responsibility of the VP's and SVP's who were fired? No. The reason for the execution problems were that in Q3 and Q4 of 2012, TIBCO's executive committee decided to not pay out commissions to many sales teams, several of whom had brought in seven and eight figure deals. They used a little known escape clause in the sales plan to do so. What happens when you screw with sales people's commissions? They stop selling. And they did. That was the reason for the execution problems. EPS was made, but at the expense of the sales force.
2) Management. There is nobody at EVP level or higher who has ever worked for a large company. Check the exec bios on the website. They are TIBCO lifers, or have come in through acquisition of startups. Those who stayed have created entrenched political fifedoms, which causes rampant internal conflict between divisions. TIBCO is a collection of small, individual startups with no plans to change. That is not sustainable in a large organization.
3) Engineering. The products used to be good. Now they are a collection of acquired products, with different UI's, development languages, Admin tools, runtimes, performance characteristics etc. Becoming very disjointed, similar to the IBM and Oracle portfolios. Like IBM and Oracle, several of the products just flat out don't work, or are being replaced by newly acquired or rearchitected/replatformed tools. The product dependency matrix is becoming extremely complex.
4) Corporate. Many corporate departments (HR, marketing, IT etc) are very much an afterthought. HR is basically non-existent. No practical processes for evaluation, feedback, development, escalations, etc. They exist on paper, but are never implemented, tracked or monitored. No organization can sustain this. TIBCO is revered for being some of the worst marketers in the industry - I've witnessed SVPs and EVPs on multiple occasions claim, during executive briefings; "we suck at marketing". Which partly explains:
5) Staff. Employee morale is in the absolute toilet. Overworked employees, exasperated management, and screwed over sales people are leaving in droves.
6) CEO. The CEO appears to be more interested in his new celebrity status as owner of an NBA franchise, than running the company. Time to bow out Vivek, you've had a great run, but your heart isn't in this game anymore. The recent user conference was a prime example of this, where many of the keynotes were about basketball, not software.
7) Strategy. The cloud is the disruptive business model, that will kill the traditional license/maintenance model, and TIBCO is way, way behind the curve on this. Installing your software on an EC2 image and giving it a different name does not constitute a cloud offering.

Advice to Senior ManagementVivek, it's time to go. Bring in someone from the outside, who has experience running a large, 2+ billion company, who values the sales force, and let them clean house. Bring all of product engineering together under one roof, and start building consistency among products. Develop, fund, and enable your internal corporate departments. Show up to corporate all-hands calls, and provide some actual leadership and guidance. Provide feedback to your employees, set common goals, and reward them when met. High performing employees who haven't had even a COL increase in years, despite record quarters are not happy employees. Figure out how to lead in the cloud, because right now, you don't have a clue.

ConsManagement threaten by anyone new or experienced. Very Asian to the point of excluding team that are not.

Advice to Senior ManagementSend management (especially new managers) to training on supervising people. Also diversity training is needed.

Way past their heyday

I worked at TIBCO Software full-time for less than a year

ProsSubsidized cafeteria onsite. Descent 401k matching. Enough parking. Most employees have an (shared) office rather than open, shoulder to shoulder work spaces (I wasn't so lucky).

ConsOutdated technology. Even more outdated management. The CEO is mostly absent, therefore the company is run by a core group of management who've been there 10+ years. The rest of Tibco's workforce has a turnover rate of 6months to two years. A previous reviewer stated he/she felt like an outcast because their national origin was not India. That review was dead on, at least in the division I worked for. If you are ok with a very rigid, hierarchical, misogynous, exploitive, 1970s style of management then this may be the company for you.

Advice to Senior ManagementPointless. They are not open to any advice.
