Great technology, Great people, Crap leadership

    Senior Solutions Consultant (Former Employee)

ProsMostly cool technology and colleagues who are intelligent and willing to go the extra mile. Camaraderie and social side is good. Sales conferences were good.

ConsCrap knowledge management, crap leadership, probably wil get acquired this year. Frustration with company direction. Once you get to a certain level, it's hard to get further.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake a realistic look at the market and see where the opportunities are. You were on a nice track to the business with BPM, but now you've gone all techy again with Matrix. Ditch the crap software which you can't compete with (at least BAM, Portal).

    Great place to work

    Consultant (Current Employee) Hyderābād (India)

ProsGood Culture, Work-Life Balance, Autonomy, Cutting Edge technologies and Products, Opportunity to learn and excel.

ConsVariable Pay (especially if you work for services group), Change in Culture, Bad people management, you tend to get stuck if you are at the wrong project, Less motivation and empowerment.

Advice to Senior ManagementCulture has been the important trademark for TIBCO, don't induce policies affecting our Core Culture and Values.

Continue to do what we have doing all these years.

    Good place to work at

Associate Consultant (Current Employee) Mumbai (India)

ProsPerhaps one of the most employee friendly companies in India. There are very less bureaucracy and micromanagement isn't really a part of their culture.

ConsLousy annual salary hikes unless there is a promotion. Even the best performers end up not getting more than 7%.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't change the culture in the name of cost cutting or growing strength. Your culture is your biggest strength and you should keep holding on it.

    Too much to fast

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

    ProsGreat people and good benefits.

ConsAquires to many company with no full integration plan. Internal departments fight for revenue recognition and sales leads. Very difficult to know where you stand at any given time.

Advice to Senior ManagementHave a CEO focused on the business not just a figure head.

Great place to work, but like all companies, it has its share of issues

Senior Manager (Former Employee) New York, NY (US)

    Pros- professional environment
    - nice co-workers (for the most part)
    - products that really work
    - employees are passionate about the products and company
    - problems solving culture - ie, know that they need to add value for their clients
    - many opportunities for employees to get together and talk shop and get trained!

Cons- comp: they are cheap for the most part
    - often short staffed due too many "hiring freezes"
    - too quarterly driven (can you really blame them or any public company?)
    - like all companies this size sometimes the left had doesn't know what the right is up to

Advice to Senior Management- better communication to the front line employees

Good company that treats employees very well

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsBase pay isn't great but bonuses or commissions can be excellent. Nice people and smart people to work with. Training programs have gotten better. Many good products. The infrastructure group has a solid business.

ConsVery aggressive growth goals, without enough marketing support.
Problems with sales management and competition within sales groups. The Spotfire group has been experiencing some chaos and losing market share in a crowded space.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe more customer focused and less of "the customer will do things our way."

    Great place to work.

QA Manager (Former Employee) Pune (India)

ProsLot of opportunities to explore. Excellent work culture. Organization is focused towards people growth. Counter parts are very helpful and make you feel at ease.

ConsHas grown big time here at Pune in the last few years. Focus on employees is weaning.

Advice to Senior ManagementGreat technical leaders. Perks such as shares now discontinued. Local leadership doesn't have much say in the larger software and professional services group.
