ACCO Brands Contract Recruiter/Recruiter Interview

Posted Dec 06, 2012 1 of 1 people found this helpful

Declined Offer – Interviewed in Lincolnshire, IL (US) Nov 2012 – Reviewed Dec 06, 2012

Interview Details I found the interview team to be knowledgable, inquisitive, and personable. The interview process entailed 3 interviews, culminating with an interview with the Director. I received a call a day after I applied for the position on LinkedIn. All the interviews entailed background review, ability to work independently, aptitude in recruiting different departments, and recruitment philosophy. There was a strong emphasis on teamwork and providing examples of best practices. The Director took the time to explain the company background and how the recent mergers have positively impacted their growing hiring needs. A lot of questions were asked about recruiting processes, usage of social media, familiarity of their ATS (iCIMS), and teamwork.

What I liked about the interview process was their first impressions, their timeliness in updating next steps, and the Director's decisiveness on whether to move forward.

Interview Question – How do you know when you've identified great talent?   Answer Question

Reason for Declining – It was a difficult decision to decline because of all the interesting projects and learning opportunities that were available. Furthermore, the Director is someone who came across as really caring about the team. I declined because of another opportunity with closer commute.

Other Details - I applied online and the process took a day.
