Manufacturing Engineer at Gulfstream Aerospace

No Offer – Interviewed in Feb 2013 – Reviewed Feb 15, 2013

Interview Details Sumbitted resume in November and got a call from HR in February to schedule a phone interview with Hiring Manager. Phone interview was consisted of a couple of questions. 1- walk me through your resume and what you have done since your last position. 2- What did my work day look like in my previous position as a Manufacturing Engineer. 3- Do I have any questions for the interviewers? The entire interview only lasted 15 minutes. Awaiting a decision on a face to face interview.

Interview Question – Because the question was so open, I found it difficult to talk through my resume without taking all the time allotted.   View Answer

Completion Interior Designer Level I at Gulfstream Aerospace

No Offer – Reviewed Oct 30, 2012

Interview Details I first completed a phone interview with a three-person panel made up of interior designers. There were a lot of hypothetical and general scenario questions. I was then called the next day to set up an in-person interview. The same three people conducted this interview as well, and asked more of the same type of questions. The design building was very nice and the corporate culture seemed very organized and friendly. It has been about two months since this interview and I am still listed in their system as being in the screeenign process.

Interview Question – Imagine you are having a meeting with a senior team member and one of your clients. The senior team member upsets your client during the meeting and now you need to get their approval for the material selections. What would you do?   Answer Question

Technical Data Associate II at Gulfstream Aerospace

Accepted Offer – Interviewed on Savannah, GA (US) Aug 2012 – Reviewed Sep 03, 2012

Interview Details I applied via the companies employment website and database, I was initially denied by Human Resources (HR), stating that I was not qualified for the position. I later learned from the Hiring Manager that they contacted HR regarding applicant pool due to them receiving low numbers in applicants, they wanted to verify the total number of potential candidates that applied. The Hiring Manager obtained my resume and contacted me on their own accord; I had a telephone interview and was invited to an in-person interview with them aftewards.

Interview Question – I did not find any questions difficult, the only unexpected question was if I truly desired the position; they felt I was very reserved and wanted to clarify that I was truly interested in attaining the position after I learned the detailed specifics of what my duties and role would be with the department and the company as a whole.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – My experience with the negotiation phase was very smooth; the Hiring Manager explained that an employee could come in at the minimum payscale, median, or top, and how they determined what scale you came in under (experience, education, etc.); I was brought in at the median, which I thought was more than fair, in terms of the compensation and benefits. HR had me come in and sign my offer letter, I cleared medical/background investigation within 7 days and my start date was verified.
