Interview Details Minimum two interviews, can be a lengthy time between interviews in order to work through the internal processes and procedures. Equally can be lengthy from final interview to job offer. Has been as quick as one month from initial interview to job offer and acceptance, but also can be as long as three months. This puts some people off.
Interview Question – Most people who interview have not been trained in interview techniques and many oddball questions can be asked. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – There is room for movement on initial salary within the band.
No Offer – Interviewed in Melbourne – Reviewed Apr 28, 2013
Interview Details A initial phone interview to assess the suitability (IBM probably outsources it because the area code is +60 from Malaysia but the person I spoke to is an Indian lady), an online aptitude test, one interview with HR and one group interview. For the initial screening phone interview, they are very keen on knowing when you graduate and whether you have physically held a PR or citizenship. Even if you're in the process of obtaining PR and do not require any sponsorship, they will reject you straight away.

Negotiation Details – Negotiation was through a consulting agency. They indicated IBM made an offer. I made a counter offer, negotiation was done. Apparently they made a third offer which was final, which I implicitly accepted, and paperwork was completed without needing to inform me of the decision.

Interview Details
Initial communication consisted of a call to the number listed on the submitted resume in which an online test was set up consisting of logic and arithmetic questions. I was then contacted again and we organised a time to do a 35-45 minute phone interview.
The phone interview, a screening call, consisted of behavioral based questions such as "What would you do if there was a problem in your team and how would you solve it?" The questions all related to team work or individual questions and I didn't get asked any technical questions which I was expecting.
Next was a phone call from the local IBM manager (the above call took place with someone from the national centre) who asked me similar questions but in a much less formal manner. I think this call was basically a get to know me call.
Interview Question – None really but it is expected that with all behavioral questions that you are able to present a real life example where possible. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – It was an internship type role so I didn't bother with negotiating a salary.

Interview Question – It was very basic tcp/ip, java vm, software development in general, nothing was really tricky since it was a support role for server side app. Answer Question
