Interview Details
The interview process with New York Life is very long. I had 5 different interviews and they easily could have been consolidated into 3.
They illustrate the steps needed to be successful and after being there for a while they were right on the mark.
They make you "prove" yourself before offering you full time status which I agree with, it weeds out the slackers.
Interview Question – They want you to complete 15 interview with people as part of the process. At first I thought that was a little too much but now I see that this helps gauge a prospective agents commitement. Answer Question

Interview Details It was more of a sales pitch then anything else. They tell you what you're going to be doing and why its such a great job, the truth is there are 5 other companies within 10 miles that will hire you to do the exact same thing. These jobs are 100% commission based and cost the company almost nothing to hire you on. The interview was pretty laid back though, nice people. If I was interested in selling investment plans and life insurance, Id work there.

Interview Details I had two interviews but declined the third. I was told about the company mainly during the first interview what they had to offer. The second interview they explain their products and services. It was not right for me but sounded like an amazing opportunity.
Interview Question – The questions are pretty straight forward. Could you be comfortable without a guaranteed paycheck? Answer Question

Interview Details It was a very lengthy process. Had to meet multiple times before a solid yes was given. Tons of required training hours and you get reimbursed for licensing and test (about $300) only after you meet required production.
Interview Question – It's just questions about who you are. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – No negotiation. Pay out scale is fixed. 100% commission

Interview Details The phone and in-person interviews were very conversational, getting-to-know-you. I met with the supervisor 3 times probably because the supervisor had some other interviews scheduled and our interview ran for too long.
Interview Question – Wasn't difficult at all. The supervisor just talked about a situation and ask you to share your opinion. Answer Question

Interview Details Applied online, contacted the next day and interview the following day.
Interview Question – Easy interview, read my resume aloud liked it, but the manager seemed hostile torwards me at times. But other than that normal questions were asked, jokes were exchanged, and made small talk. Answer Question
Reason for Declining – Office seemed dead, and the office workers seemed gloomed.

Interview Details This consisted of three interviews a long way away, one interview with the local office and extensive screening online. One thing about the interviews, they're more like presentations to you. They don't ask very much about you or your history. It's all about explaining the company and what you're expected to do.
