No Offer – Interviewed in Sydney Apr 2013 – Reviewed May 05, 2013
Interview Details Applied for a position under their graduate recruitment program (Sydney). Online application form starts off the recruitment process, followed by an invitation to an invite-only pre-interview networking event. A phone interview follows that, the one I received was conducting by a HR person who asked questions relevant to the position but seemed unqualified to have a intelligent discussion. An example was when the HR person asked for my opinions on a recent business/financial news event. She was unfamiliar with the topic herself and was frantically trying to scribble notes down instead of engaging in a two-way conversation. Finally, the HR person admitted that she was mainly trying to decide what role would suit me rather than respecting my ability to decide if I had the skills and qualifications to be competent in a role. The company took 2 weeks to get back with rejection email, offering to provide feedback via a telephone callback. After scheduling a time with their automated system, I was surprised that the call never came at all. Very unprofessional conduct for a prestigious firm.

For the intern position I only made it as far as the telephone interview, which was pretty rigorous. Asked standard motivation/behavioural questions, such as why PwC, why I chose the service line I applied for, tell me about a time you had to use communication/teamwork to achieve an outcome.
After the telephone interview, I was told the next interview would be at their office with a panel of 2, a HR officer and an employee of the service line I applied for.

Completed the initial online application form, then proceeded to the next step of the online assessment, which was a verbal and numerical assessment. I found that the biggest difficulty with these was the time constraint, so be sure to do the practice Q's. Then received a phone interview, which I did two days ago. Initial questions were things such as why PwC and why assurance. Was then asked some competency questions about working in a team, if my approach conflicted with others. Finally was asked about how I keep up to date with business news, and was asked about something that I found interesting accordingly. Also, had a few questions regarding extra-curricular activities and how I manage these with my studies.
Still waiting for a response (hence no offer as of yet)

Questions included normal behavioural, Director then asked me about the future direction of PwC and how I would grow it. Not sure if normal for interviews though.

Interview Details Consisted of a written task and role play, presentations by senior management, a 1:2 interview and numerical test. Make sure you are on point throughout the process and not just during the interview and written/role play as I have a feeling that the staff on hand judge you during the whole process.
