Lobby Lounge Food Runner at Ritz-Carlton

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Orlando, FL (US) May 2013 – Reviewed May 16, 2013 New

Interview Details Do not speak in slang, they will not hire you. Wear a suit, get a hair cut, and start researching the company. If you have no experience, do not waste your time applying, no one begins at the Ritz-Carlton, you work your way into it. Prepare for the most intense screening process for an entry level job you will ever have. Always smile and speak as if your were about to drink tea with the president.

Interview Question – Can't remember, Director of food and beverage conducted his interview as we walked around the hotel, threw two curve balls at me that I was not prepared for.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – non negotiable, offer was more than I had expected; a lot more. I will be buying a new car, that is how much they offered.

Steward at Ritz-Carlton

No Offer – Interviewed in Amelia Island, FL (US) Jan 2013 – Reviewed Feb 21, 2013

Interview Details Attended job fair, after introduction the interviewer excused himself to use restroom, let's just say I was waiting a while, felt rather uncomfortable sitting alone in open room while other interviews going on around me, not much questioning, long job description, in fact I asked all the questions!

Interview Question – Like I said I asked the questions and I know just about everything there is for a steward position at the Ritz without getting the job or ever working there! Interview if you can call it that was long detailed description of the operations behind house, I had a feeling the position had already been filled. Good coffee...what more can I say?   Answer Question

Server at Ritz-Carlton

Accepted Offer – Interviewed on Naples, FL (US) Jun 2011 – Reviewed Feb 17, 2013

Interview Details Pretty Simple and Straightforward-Online application, online test/assessment, a brief phone interview, and a face to face interview with 2 supervisors. Once they offer you the position, then it's a background check, drug test, and a three day extremely boring orientation process which tries to turn you into a Ritz Carlton robot.

Interview Question – Basic questions about how you handled situations at your previous job-nothing too difficult.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – No negotiation-the pay is minimal and the tips are where you make your money.

Front Desk Agent at Ritz-Carlton

Accepted Offer – Interviewed on Phoenix, AZ (US) Mar 2011 – Reviewed Nov 25, 2012

Interview Details I applied online, completed an assessment and then was called for a phone interview. It was pretty basic, with the manager giving me an overview of the position. Once we completed the phone interview, I was invited for 3 more in-person interviews over the course of 2 weeks.

Interview Question – The questions were not really difficult. There were situational questions (tell me a time when you...) I did not however, expect 4 interviews for an entry-level job, but I guess that is how they get the best candidates, by getting to know the applicant.   View Answer

Negotiation Details – No negociation
