Analyst at Southwest Airlines

No Offer – Interviewed in Dallas, TX (US) Apr 2012 – Reviewed May 11, 2012

Interview Details I applied for a position online and a recruiter contacted me within the week. The recruiter was very friendly, helpful, and really made me feel like he was on my side as well as ensuring the position was a good match. I was asked to come in for a interview the next week.
The interview was an hour and consisted of the manager who I'd be working for and the recruiter. The interview was involved a case study, which I had not expected at all, to see how I would work through a problem. Unfortunately, the hiring was put on hold and so they stopped the interview process. I kept up with the recruiter who in a few weeks contacted me for a similar opening. What a great resource!

Systems Engineering Intern at Southwest Airlines

Accepted Offer – Interviewed on Dallas, TX (US) Feb 2011 – Reviewed May 03, 2012

Interview Details Good interview process. As an intern, you will have an initial screening interview from a recruiter asking about experiences in school etc. The main point of emphasis is to see how you work in groups, how you deal with setbacks, that sort of thing. If accepted, you'll be flown out to Dallas for an on site interview. There was a panel of managers and/or engineers (3 in my case), along with one HR recruiter. They will ask in particular to find out why you are a good fit for Southwest, and if you reflect the friendly and positive mentality of the company. You will certainly be asked to discuss how you work in groups, how you dealt with interpersonal problems, all of which requires examples. No technical questions were asked for engineering intern positions. Great interview process, you'll see very quickly how genuine and friendly people are within the company.

Customer Service Agent at Southwest Airlines

No Offer – Interviewed in Las Vegas, NV (US) Mar 2012 – Reviewed Mar 14, 2012

Interview Details Sent resume online via SWA website. Was sent an email with a date and time on when they would call. Received a phone call which consisted of prior experience, why Southwest, what the job entails, uniform sizes, salary, etc. Was not offered a f2f, but was told someone would be contacting me, either way, within 2 weeks. From everything I've read, if you're not offered the f2f during the phone interview, you probably won't be invited to the f2f. I'll wait and see if I get the, "Thanks, but no thanks!"

Interview Question – Interviewer kept asking if I was aware of what the job entailed!   View Answers (2)
