Technical Consultant at Sprint Nextel

No Offer – Interviewed in Brick, NJ (US) – Reviewed May 19, 2013 New

Interview Details I had applied through career builder website and within a few days was contacted by the store manager for an in person interview. I went to the store for the interveiw with the manager. It was one on one in his office. No hard or unexpected questions. very laid back. He told me he had a few more interviews to conduct and would be making his decision by the end of the week and if i was chosen id receive an email with instructions for the background and drug test ect. At the end of the week i actually received a call from the manager explaining he had decided to go with an existing employee from a different sprint store that requested a transfer but i would have been chosen if it wasnt against an existing employee.

Prepaid Dealer Account Executive at Sprint Nextel

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in New York, NY (US) Mar 2011 – Reviewed May 16, 2013 New

Interview Details Consisted of a phone interview with the hiring manager and an in-person interview with two hiring managers. The interview itself was easy, but is definitely more difficult now that Sprint has entire ownership of its prepaid companies.

If you are interviewing for this job, be prepared to panel interview with at least 3 people. I would also suggest having a 30, 60 and 90 day action plan ready to present.

Interview Question – What are your 3 favorite movies?   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – You cannot negotiate here if you are an internal employee.

Technical Support Engineer ! at Sprint Nextel

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Overland Park, KS (US) Oct 2009 – Reviewed May 11, 2013 New

Interview Details Had multiple interviews for each entry level corporate position in Network that I applied for in 2007. Found out later that the entry level positions all had 120+ applicants. It helps to have contacts within the company which will vouch for you with the hiring manager.

Interview Question – Questions were not difficult, but required some previous thought so you weren't caught flat footed. Had a hiring manager tell me that she'd had folks that were very qualified but unable to answer typical interview questions that were along this genre, which can be found by searching the internet for interview questions:
•Have you ever been on a team where someone was not pulling their own weight? How did you handle it?
•Tell me about a time when you had to give someone difficult feedback. How did you handle it?
•What was the last project you headed up, and what was its outcome?
  Answer Question

Negotiation Details – I didn't feel that the hiring manager had a lot of wiggle room, but I negotiated for a couple of thousand more since I had a idea of the low, middle and high ranges for the position. I've been promoted since and also have had annual compensation reviews (ACR), which are minimal- 3% or so.

BWTS at Sprint Nextel

Accepted Offer – Interviewed on Las Vegas, NV (US) Mar 2013 – Reviewed May 02, 2013

Interview Details Applied and two days later got call for an interview later on the next week with two leads. Asked some STAR based questions and some basic tech questions. Week later interview with manager who basically told me about the place and told me to get my background and drug test done. Started three weeks later. The background company does not make much of an effort to validate employment and relies on the person to provide documentation.

Interview Question – I will not divulge a question but if your interviewing for tech support, know basic tech info about products and know that Customer service is important.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – No negotiations however, offer was more than fair.

Technical Consultant at Sprint Nextel

Accepted Offer – Interviewed on Mesa, AZ (US) Mar 2013 – Reviewed Apr 15, 2013

Interview Details Okay I applied online @ Careerbuilder.com and I went straight to the website, I filled out the application and took a long assessment, which was all behavior assessing. I was then called a few days later for a in-store interview, there was no phone interview. Of course I said yes to the interview. I went to the store it was very casual, but they did ask me every question that other glassdoor users have put as review-interview questions for the Sprint. I didn't study for the interview, it was very laid back, a few days later I was called to take a 2nd interview another store with another supervisor. That interview was even more laid back than the 1st interview, and he mainly talked about the position.

Interview Questions

  • Tell me about a time when you failed, and what you did to correct it?   Answer Question
  • Tell me about time that you that you helped an angry customer?   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – Well I told them that Glassdoor average for Sprint Technical Consultant is about 14.07, they seemed fine with that, I should have asked for more but I really wanted the position.
