Upper management primarily narcissists; they do not consider lower level employees human beings.

I worked at Albemarle full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Health incentives offered to all employees at no or low cost (exercise room, classes, walks, runs, etc.).

    Cons

Mid- and upper-level mgmnt. HR representatives do not want to know about harassment and other issues. Specific upper-level mgmnt arbitrarily changed performance reviews to a bell curve (1-5) and selected a golden child from each dept to get a 4. One specific person assigned low number to all other employees, despite never working with them. Employees' supervisors were not allowed to comment and had no input into review. Company was turned into a fiefdom.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wake up and realize it is the employees who make the company. Treat them well, recognize what they do, LISTEN to their suggestions, and then implement the good ones. Fire the narcissists and hire human beings at the upper and mid levels.
