The only real pro is location. There is a housing department that will help new hires find housing. (However, the housing suggested is steep in price considering the salary.) The company targets college graduates so there is a lot of young people.Cons
The company posts the consultant job with a number of different titles to generate as many resumes as possible. Beware the job you are applying for may not be the job you end up with. I applied for Human Resources, relocated and found myself in a cold-calling sales position. Although there was extensive training it was dry, long, and boring. None of the trainers showed any enthusiasm or passion for their jobs, let a lone a smile. Training is full of tests and quizzes, but none of the training materials are allowed to leave the premise, so you can't study after hours. After you complete training you become a consultant-in-training where you are expected to make 100+ calls a day. There is no daily variety, just outbound calls. They expect consultants to stay an hour or two late several nights a week to make extra calls. There is no challenge offered in this position. Its a lot of mindless work.
The benefits package offered in the position offer were not actually offered. (I was told I was receiving full benefits--full benefits were offered, but the employees pay for them.) The company doesn't actually go over the benefits with the new consultants. The entire emphasis is placed on the benefits being offered to the travel RNs. I was also told "good luck" if I thought I'd be going home for Christmas and the holidays. Vacation/sick days/days off are not given until after a year of employment. (That was withheld information in my offer.) Management is interested solely in profits, not employee well-being and work/life balance.
There is no room for advancement. The company is quite small. Consultants ranged from college grads to those with 10+ years. The office is primarily women as well. Not a good environment for those who aren't interested in gossip. Terribly high turnover rate at this company.Advice to ManagementAdvice
