    I worked at Comerica full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - decent healthcare options
    - subsidized parking

    Cons

    - good people continue to leave, leaving the mediocre employees
    - culture of shading and/or misrepresenting the truth
    - failure to address performance issues of mediocre employees
    - culture of management by threat
    - huge gaps in technology
    - ran like a union shop; management and employees
    - senior management rarely visible; surprising for a three state bank (can't really count AZ and FL)
    - promotions are based upon time at company; not ability
    - extremely spend thrift bank; to the point of ridiculous

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - senior management will need to make radical changes in the culture for the bank to survive
    - rid the bank of the union mentality of dealing with poor performance and promotion (runs like a car company); not surprising given it's roots
    - stop insulting the competition because they are winning employees and business
