Former Employee - Projects Team in Toronto, ON (Canada)

    I worked at Eaton

    Pros

    - Very good pay
    - Good benefits

    Cons

-No positive social atmosphere. Everyone eats at their desk. A lot of petty gossip and tattling to managers.
-You are given more work than is reasonable, and expected to finish it and work unpaid overtime.
    -Unrealistic expectations for workload management
    -Inexperienced managers
    -Constant cutbacks
-Takes months for the manager to get approval to hire a vital replacement to the team. Team suffers because of any cutbacks to employees
-Company not afraid to let go of employees with high salaries or long tenures if it means they can save money.
-Managers not responsive to realistic complaints.
-They hire below the minimum staff requirements to do the job, leaving the staff to do overtime every day.
-Company had no social events throughout the year save for Christmas.
-HR is not motivated to be on your side. I didn't feel like I was comfortable talking to them, and they did not even introduce themselves to get paperwork signed until after my first week working there.
-Everyone at the company is competing against each other. Coworkers will not hesitate to bully each other to get the things they need.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees and stop treating them like workhorses. Be careful or you'll lose the vital people who run your company.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
