    I worked at Genworth Financial

    Pros

International blue chip company, that gives credibility to an employees CV. The focus on granularity allows a better understanding of financial layering and detail. This gives a greater appreciation of how to avoid risk, improve analytic processes and maximise investment.

    Cons

The nature of the company since the GFC has made it difficult for employees to make effective change. The financial climate in the US dictates international policy and in turn poorly defined audit processes were put in place as a facade of 'fiscal security'.
Time would see these processes mature and soothe the working environment

    Advice to Management

Macro management changes at the 'C' level tends to undermine staff and their previous efforts to support the company through difficult times. Any change at CEO level is going to have serious issues and in a company that needs stability, those issues should be avoided where possible.
