I worked at IRS full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Flexibility, great mentors, vast array of opportunities, job stability, and overall great teamwork from co-workers.

    Cons

Seasonal peaks not as long in certain departments, pay freezes every now and then, hardly any recognition from upper management, training can be sub-par at best depending on department.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take control over your department regardless of how much management experience you have, let your team no where you stand on principles and goals. Also to ensure communication is key, don't just sit in an office all day and only come out when there is a meeting to be held. Make yourself personable yet remain professional. No favorites!
