I worked at Los Angeles USD full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Teachers I worked with loved teaching children and working collaboratively. Good benefits. Lovely families and students with moderate level of participation.

    Cons

Corrupt, culture of fear. Job security trumps student welfare. Union is crippling. Worst for special needs students and teachers. Special Ed programs are not adequately supported ; safe environment and basic classroom supplies are low priority.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just start over from scratch. It's too big and problems are too pervasive to fix. Union has grown too strong and is now a detriment and divisive element.
