Schedule, schedule, schedule. At the DFW location in Roanoke, TX they run a lot of teams. Your home time will be nothing. You will start as an extraboard employee running at the mercy of management. If you do not like teams, meaning long routes of 18-30 hours, sleeping on a truck, or you like working solo this job is not for you.
However, the pay is great. You will make between 60k and 70k your first year easy. If you can take a year or two of extraboard and team runs, you can score a local route which is usually 4 days a week and making in the ballpark of 70k to 80k.
There are a lot of 20 year veterans, a few 30 year veterans and a guy with over 40 years in. Seniority is a long way to the top. 7 years will put you in the middle of the pack of roughly 100 drivers.Advice to ManagementAdvice
Only thing I would suggest is the Transportation department find people with commercial driving experience. I mean substantial seat/glass time. You really need that to garner respect and open ears from your professional drivers.RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEO
