Current Employee - Recruitment Consultant in London, England (UK)

I have been working at Spencer Ogden full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    - Cool offices.
    - Some good benefits

    Cons

    - Working with hundreds of dishonest cowboys.
    - Trained to lie your way through every process. Cheat clients out of money and trick candidates into taking roles they don't want
    - Unachievable KPIS mean you are constantly under pressure. Very little to no support from managers. All they care about is whether or not you're making money.
    - An inhumane environment, noone cares about anyone!
    - I was punished for taking holiday. I took 10 days in a year and was told I wasn't allowed to take the rest and i had to 'pay the company back' with my hard work...
    - Absolutely no social life allowed- if you left before 6pm you had to make an excuse or give reason.
    - Constantly under threat of being fired

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Stop bullying and intimidating your staff, they might want to make more money for you.
    - Allow staff to take the holidays they are entitled too- again they might then be more inclined to work harder when they return
    - Let staff have a social life.
    - Stop selling the dream to every poor graduate that walks through the door

    Doesn't Recommend
    Positive Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
