    Current Employee - Associate Director
    Current Employee - Associate Director

I have been working at UBS full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Make sure you get into the right team where the manager is respected and the team is welcoming and positive. UBS is known to have cultural issues across generations, gender and internal ranking system.

    Cons

You are expected to work long hours "that's what you sign up for", take meeting calls at all hours and then be docked annual leave for medical appointments. If you are studying or have evening lectures, managers will make it difficullt for you.
There have been wage freezes across UBS for several years, cheaper employees are brought across from support teams without pay increases. They churn through interns to save costs (higher bonuses for management).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are serious issues of disconnect and inefficiencies wiithin teams, between teams and across IB, WM & GAM. The high level of employee turnover should be a red flag to HR and CEOs as to what is going on at the manager level (especially those managers acquiring their position because they've sat at UBS for last 10-20yrs while everyone else has left).
