I have been working at US Marine Corps full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Guaranteed employment and health benefits. 30 days of paid vacation earned annually. Advancement opportunities guaranteed if you do what you are told. Worldwide travel opportunities for training and combat. Clothing allowance for uniforms. Increased pay for married Marine. Family Health benefits. Leadership that takes care of its personnel for the most part.

    Cons

Individual leaders can be immature and self obsessed. Officer and SNCO leaders in senior positions can be detrimental due to archaic mindset. Combat deployments can be dangerous.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mission accomplishment is always first. Welfare of the Marines is a concern. Don't waste time on those that will not produce. Process for discharge if an able to correct the deficiencies with 1 to 2 years depending on the problem. Use fitness report system process properly. Award those who are productive with continued service in the Marine Corps, the remainder terminate there service. Just like any corporation would.
