    I worked at e2v full-time (more than an year)


    The technology and work experience opportunities are excellent for younger engineering employees and starting salaries for graduates were competitive when I was there - mind you, they had to be in order to recruit any graduates each year!


    Many of the 'time served' senior engineering staff were very unhappy with the way their salaries were being eroded with each new graduate intake each year. Senior professional engineering staff with over 15 years post graduate experience were typically earning only about 10 to 15% more than the incoming graduates and the gap was narrowing each year. Their skills had become quite specialised over the years with e2v, so their ability to 'up sticks' and move anywhere else in Essex was very limited - hence the Company was effectively and knowingly exploiting their situation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Given the frank disclosure of poor working conditions, product quality problems, poor financial rewards for senior engineering staff in R&D etc - one would think that the e2v management would 'wake up' and take positive action to put things right because e2v Customers AND Shareholders can also read all these revelations and maybe have second thoughts about doing business with or investing in such a poorly managed Company. Over to you Executive Management Team - if you do nothing - you will slowly move into decline and eventually lose all your fine salaries, perks and benefits !
