I have been working at Dollar Tree

    Pros

It's an easy job and you can work yourself up pretty quick if you have a good work ethic.

    Cons

MINIMUM WADGE. And managers in most of the stores always hate what there doing and bring people down and create a lazy staff who does not care. I have been in four different stores and on two states all the same ..

    Application Details

I applied in-person. The process took 5 daysinterviewed at Dollar Tree in October 2014.

    Interview Details

I saw the sign in the local store window that they were hiring and went inside, filled out an application in store, and handed it off. About 4 days later I got a call that I could come in for an interview.

The interview itself was more so I sat and listened to her explain that it's a straight forwards job. It is what it is, minimum wage, and part time only with people working 2-4 shifts a week. Each shift is 5-5.5 hrs long so that they don't have to give you a mandatory break. If you go in to cover for someone's shift when they need it you're more likely to get more hours. They do all the paperwork and hiring online. She clarified if I had a car, why I wanted to work there, and how available I was.

Dollars may not grow on trees, but Dollar Tree stores work hard to bring in the green. The company operates more than 4,100 Dollar Tree, Deal$, Dollar Giant, and Dollar Bills discount stores in 48 US states and the District of Columbia, as well as about 85 stores in Canadian provinces. Stores carry a mix of housewares, toys, seasonal items, food, health and beauty aids, gifts, and books -- most priced at $1 or less. About 40% of merchandise is imported, primarily from China. The stores are located in high-traffic strip centers anchored by mass merchandisers, supermarkets... More
