That’s why we’ve established the Emeritus Employee Fund, which offers emergency relief to our staff members in times of crisis. Our employees contribute to and benefit from the fund. We also allow employees to donate vacation time to co-workers in need.

We are proud to be recognized for our unique commitment to seniors, their families—and our staff. In 2011, the Puget Sound Business Journal named Emeritus one of Washington’s Best Workplaces. And in 2010, the Seattle Times and NWJobs.com named us the Northwest’s Best Healthcare Company for making a difference to our employees and making them want to come to work every day. The Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) also regularly recognizes us for numerous honors. In 2008, we received the “Best of the Best” award for our innovative Employee Commitment Conversations program. In this groundbreaking program, Emeritus senior managers visit our communities to meet with staff in an open forum. The goal: to hear first hand about issues that affect them and receive suggestions for enhancing employee and customer satisfaction.

Then, in 2009, we were awarded the “Best of the Best” award for our sales and marketing best practices as we launched our new brand identity. And in 2010 and 2011, our outstanding staff members have won a combined three Hero awards for rising above their daily duties to really make a difference in the lives of the residents in their care.
