    I worked at Healthways full-time for more than a year


    Nice people, easy to get to. Great concept. They tried hard to offer a life work balance with fitness equipment and classes but often not enough time to use it. Good orientation and mentoring program during first months. 5 weeks leave. Great HR. Clean office with nice outlook. Fun stuff and team building half days


    Micro-management. Metrics override good practice. Orientation time cut, poor new management support and development and minimal career opportunities. Not meeting metrics means you can't join in anything else, even product improvement. Poor pay scale for RNs, less than RN8, and reduction in benefits. IT stuck in a room without windows.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    2 weeks a year on the phones achieving metrics as part of everyone's performance metrics - would assist understanding, product improvement and valuing of the people revenue raising - i.e. floor clinicians. If you want to reduce office costs by getting more people to work at home, make it simpler and easier to do so.

    I applied through an employee referral - interviewed at Healthways in April 2013.

    Interview Details

    I had several interviews. The first was with HR and included a simple typing test and test of ability to copy and paste material. Then I had an interview with a manager on a separate date. There were some delays in the process due to changes in leadership. Also there was a delay in starting orientation due to insufficient new hires.

    • The had very detailed questions about how to manage scenarios with members with core conditions. The process was mapped out on a spreadsheet by a manager and graded.   Answer Question
