Very challenging but worth it if you really want to climb the ladder. Hard work is well rewarded.

I worked at KKR full-time for more than 10 years

Very nice offices, good support system (admin and IT support, learning and development programs). The firm sets high expectations for all of its employees so it can be a very challenging environment, but a good opportunity for personal growth. Accomplishments are recognized. Good benefits and compensation.

Work/life balance can be difficult. There seems to be more red tape since the company went public several years ago. KKR has lost a bit of the boutique/family firm culture with their growth over the last 7 to 8 years.

    Interview Details

Went through a staffing agency. They scheduled me for a Wednesday. I was Interviewed for 40 minutes with pretty standard questions. The interviewer was VP and was very nice. She was very difficult to read though as to whether she liked me or not. I left completely unsure of whether they were considering me or not.

Have the barbarians at the gate become civilized? KKR & Co., the master of the leveraged buyout, has ditched its hostile takeover image for a kinder, gentler, buy-and-build strategy. The global alternative asset manager has more than $60 billion in assets under management, including stakes in Del Monte Foods, Eastman Kodak, and Legg Mason. An active owner, it often supervises or installs new management and revamps strategy and corporate structure, selling underperforming units or adding new ones. The comany has offices in major business centers in the US, Europe, Asia, and... More
