Schneider Electric employees live their values through their work and participation in activities such as BipBop (Business, Innovation, and People at the Base of the Pyramid), the Schneider Electric programme focused on bringing safe, clean electricity to the people who need it most. In addition, the company promotes energy innovation and conservation through programmes such as Solar Decathlon. These are just a few examples of how Schneider Electric cares for the planet.

Charge the world, Change the world. For every residential EVlink we sell, we'll donate a solar powered, battery operated, LED lamp to a family in need. For every 100 views of this video on YouTube, we'll donate another lamp. Watch and share!

Water of the Sun: In remote areas, pumping water from a well can be time-consuming and difficult. To address this challenge, Schneider Electric provides rural communities with Water of the Sun, a fully automatic solar-powered water pumping system. Now, villages with no grid power or erratic power can maximize use of solar energy to pump water for domestic use and/or irrigation purposes.
Off-grid solutions for Senegal villages: In collaboration with the Senegal authorities,Schneider Electric provided three villages with a micro off-grid solar-powered facility known as Villasol. The plant supplies electricity to the main communal buildings in Dar Salam, Thiasky, and Kak: their schools, community centres, and health centres. It also provides a battery charging station so village inhabitants can recharge their Schneider Electric–provided In-Diya lamps.
Introducing trades in Cambodia: Since 2009, Centre Kram Ngoy in Cambodia has been a partner in the Schneider Electric™ BipBop Training Programme. Together, they are introducing electrical and automation trades to people from the BoP (bottom of the pyramid), enabling them to contribute to Cambodian development. Schneider Electric helps train instructors and provides laboratory equipment.
Solar Decathlon: Since 2009, Schneider Electric has been a proud supporter of the Solar Decathlon, an award-winning programme that challenges collegiate teams to design, build, and operate solar-powered houses that are cost-effective, energy efficient, and attractive. Through Solar Decathlon, Schneider Electric highlights innovative and effective solutions to reduce energy waste, promote clean energy, and encourage environmentally friendly consumption habits.

I have been working at Schneider Electric full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

A truly global company with great diversity. Great to work with people collaboratively within an organisation clearly intentioned on making Planet Earth a better place for all to work and live. I have a great work life balance, work with a committed group of professionals and believe career prospects are there should I desire.

    Cons

A classic matrix organisation that has grown quickly through acquisitions. SE offers up many challenges of working effectively on a large scale in many countries across a broad offering of products and services. Some would argue this makes it more interesting....

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in the technology and tools to support people in delivering their objectives. Hold people accountable for their output and within their allocated budgets but empower them to operate within that framework.
