    Pros

eWorking, everyone shares same concern so we have that in common

    Cons

micro-managing by Sr Leadership, constant changes and doing more with less staff

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No one looks forward to coming to work in my office - ask employees what is missing - there is no teamwork, no mutual understanding of goal setting and no sharing of information. Most fear they're going to be next...in my office, there are no career opportunities or ability to advance. The only way to improve is to leave the organization unfortunately.

    Pros

Strong company that's made a full recovery form the past. Growth opportunities exist in many areas of the company and internal transfers are encouraged. Competitive benefit package. The combination of both the insurance and financial services areas of the business create a variety of interesting work and business learning opportunities.

    Cons

Regular management reorgs can make it difficult to create continuity in your career.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think more about the impact to staff and communicate changes more clearly during the reorg process

Current Employee - Financial Analyst in New York, NY (US)

    Pros

Great work life balance compared to many other wall street based offices. low stress at times but when it comes time for budgeting and forecasting it can get crazy. Company pays for expenses related to work like if you work late and grab a meal its all covered. Pay is great as well and everyone is very experienced so you have help at every desk.

    Cons

Nothing really besides long hours during budget season but get compensated well for it

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what your doing! You guys are bringing AIG back to where it was and well be better than before

  10.

    Great experience

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee  in  New York, NY (US)
Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in New York, NY (US)

    Pros

Culture is nice - not micromanaged, relaxed, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary. Workload keeps you busy, but it's fine because the day goes by a little quicker. It depends on your position, but an average employee will work overtime once or twice a week.

    Cons

On-site lunch is not subsidized in any way, so you would not go out of your way to pay the same price as you would elsewhere for so-so food.

  11.

Former Employee - Middleware in Jersey City, NJ (US)

    Pros

In the tech organization there were plenty of opportunities to learn new technologies because of total lack of management's direction. Awesome resume builder.

    Cons

Total lack of management's direction and support. Couldn't push through any innovations. OpenSource is a big no-no.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote from within! There were talented folks there but dues to the above they either left or became as complacent as the management.

    Disapproves of CEO
