It was a great place to work for.

ATT Customer Service Representative (Former Employee)
Dallas, TX (US)

I worked at AT&T full-time for more than 8 years

ProsInsurance benefits, time off policies, able to earn time away from phones.

ConsNot enough time to resolve all customers issues in maximum time allowed.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't spend so much time worrying about call handle times if the employee is doing a good job resolving customers issues.

I loved working at AT&T my boss was really nice and funny. I justed wished it was a FTE position and not a contract.

IT Project Manager (Current Employee)
Bothell, WA (US)

I have been working at AT&T as a contractor for less than a year

ProsTraining and more Training I enjoyed learning as much as I could. Plus, I liked the organizational approach like ITUP and Agile.

ConsIt was a contract that ended sooner than was agreed upon. Hire FTE employee's this contract temp work doesn't work for both the company and the temp worker :(

Advice to Senior ManagementBudget better, when you see RED that means you are out of money put check and balance markers in the budget so when you are starting to run low then take action. Why do they keep robbing other projects for Administration. Administration and Planning should have their own budget for support.

Fairly good job

AT&T Retail Sales Consultant (Current Employee)
Lexington, KY (US)

I have been working at AT&T part-time for less than a year

ProsThe pay for full time and part time are very reasonable. Pretty enjoyable work environment. They do provide decent benefits - Insurance, 401K, etc. Bonuses are nice, and you get paid out, at least a little bit, even if you do not hit 100% of your goals. Discounts on service and certain products. Great work/life balance, especially if you are in school/taking classes.

ConsInsurance does not kick in until after 6 months, and the only way to apply for it is to pay a whopping 500 dollars per month when hired. I believe you can call to have your benefits applied and paid for after 6 months, but it was a hassle (for me anyway) and I will wait until open enrollment. Some sales goals are ridiculous to hit, you really have to push, work hard, and convince customers that they will love/need/want these products. And as with any retail job, you have to deal with the rude/unhappy customers on a daily basis.

AT&T Mobility, Fun and challenging

Retail Sales Consultant (Former Employee)
Nassau, NY (US)

I worked at AT&T full-time for more than 3 years

ProsCo. actually asks your preference on how to be managed or coached. Nice perks, company phone, great benefits, union. If you like your coworkers, you'll like the job.

ConsManagement is always being changed/moved around. Its no longer about selling phones, they want you force feeding tablets, data cards, wireless home phone service, overpriced high end accessories and Home security. Customers have ridiculous expectations and know how to "work" the system.

Advice to Senior ManagementAdvice to management is futile. Its all about the earnings and it will always be.
