I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Plenty of opportunity for advancement and different roles. Vast size of the company allows you to do many different things and roles.
    Very good pay and benefits.

    Cons

Large corporate structure that makes advancing and moving difficult at times. Getting things done can be difficult having to abide by rules and hierarchy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to break down corporate rules.

I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The company is changing, there was a time - not so long ago - that I would have recommended but not highly. The company is going through a cultural change and it is good change.

    Cons

New leadership Vs. older leadership, the company is changing culturally which is a good thing however there are those that play the change as positive out loud but are naysayers behind the scenes which drives inconsistency in leadership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make use of current employees that want to advance rather than focusing on outside replacement. I understand a healthy balance but if someone has given double digit years of their life to supporting AT&T and had promising reviews year after year, look at that and acknowledge. Just because someone might has the desired degree or experience on paper doesn't mean that they'd provide better insight than someone that has that REAL WORLD experience and understands TREND and KNOW HOW on the ground w/ in AT&T. You need both, but do not discount partnerships between those w/ the experience/ expertise and those that want to learn how to apply what they know on paper in the real world of AT&T.

I worked at AT&T full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The benefits and work-life balance were awesome, as well as the time-off policies. Everyone worked well together.

    Cons

Once YP holdings took over, the pay structure decreased, customer service & graphics moved to India resulting in mistakes & poor customer satisfaction. Very unhappy work environment under YP Holdings.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wish you didn't sell advertising division to YP Holdings. They need to work on increasing customer and employees satisfaction by bringing back in-house graphic artists, better customer service representatives and increasing the pay structure.

I have been working at AT&T full-time for less than a year

    Pros

1 of the best things about AT&T is the training you receive as a New Hire. The company sends you to a designated location for a month's worth of training. They teach you the basics of sales and how to maximize your customers in-store experiences. While at training if it is necessary, they will pay to put you in a hotel, give you an American Express card for daily meals and reimburse you for any travel expenses in a very timely manor. The training you receive is top of the line.

Next, lets talk pay. At&t pays their employees extremely well. With a base salary with paid overtime and full benefits and a compensation program, you won't want to leave the company just for that reason. They take care of their employees for the time you spend with them.

Room for advancement. At AT&T moving up is a breeze if your motivated and a hard working individual. My current assistant store manager has only been with the company 10 months and is already looking at becoming a small business rep.

    Cons

The work and life balance. The hours are long and tiring to the point were when you get home all you want to do is sleep and on your days off as well.

Customers you have to deal with and the ability for a sales rep to control the interaction . That is one of the biggest complaint I have about the company. A lot of times customers come into the store hot and as sales reps we don't have the discretion or ability to waive ridiculous fees or fix issues. Everything seems like it has to be refereed to customer care which makes for a bad customer experience in store.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let your team members know you appreciate their hard work and dedication and with out them, they wouldn't have customers.

I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good pay for not having a Bachelors degree. 48k year one, 58k year 2, 67k year 3.

    Cons

No room for advancement. If you start in sales you will die there. You can become an assistant manager and make 40k a year. Then a manager 60k then DSM 80-90k. You need to go down to move up, the company makes no sense in that regard.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do something, your union staff does your whole job.
