Former Employee – worked at Abbott Labs full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Abbott was a great learning experience and provided a chance to try new things. They are well financed and open to new ideas.
Cons – Too much change at one time leads to uncoordinated projects, delays, impacts to customers, and product quality, all of which can be avoided with proper project management.
Advice to Senior Management – Yes project management is an additional overhead cost, but invest in it now and your long term costs and impacts will be minimized.

Current Employee – been working at Abbott Labs full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Pay, bonus, and benefits are good. Product lines are strong and good sources of revenue.
Cons – Communication is lacking between Corporate and divisions. Finance business systems are terrible. They need to upgrade so the whole company is on 1 system and dump the patchwork of systems from the 1980's.
Advice to Senior Management – Communicate! It is very frustrating sometimes when we don't know what decisions are being made at Abbott Park until late in the game.
