I have been working at Accenture full-time for more than a year

ProsAmazing development structure, but you need to push for it as it won't come too you.
Works you too the bone but rewards your efforts in a well structure performance review process.

ConsAccenture is a lifestyle choice as much as it is a job. This may not work for many people.

When you get the right role, Accenture is great!

Systems Integration Consultant (Current Employee)
Melbourne

I have been working at Accenture full-time for more than 3 years

ProsThe good people are great.
Challenging.
If you get the right role, you can really define what you want to do and achieve.

ConsLong wait for promotion.
Pay below market rate.
Difficult to change capabilities/practices when pigeon-holed.

Good company for consultants, but not for tech people

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Sydney

I have been working at Accenture full-time for more than 5 years

ProsGood company for consultants. Big projects. Reasonably long roles (12-18 months) to perform. Work life balance is quite okay. Benefits (overtime, training, career counselling etc) are quite good, training facilities can be (or not) advantageous when good faculties are there.

ConsNot good for techies. Payment is far below the market rates. Can't have a well defined career: have to work on projects as they come, may not choose a specific technology/career path.

Great for learning and extremely poor pay

Senior Consultant (Former Employee)

I worked at Accenture full-time for more than a year

ProsGreat for newbies, there are some senior executives who actually listen to advice provided by those they lead, opportunities to work with some great clients

Conspoor working conditions, they are trying promote the concept of women empowerment but the number of women in leadership are still quite minimum, experienced hires are hired for their expertise but not paid at market rates for it and no one listens to them.

Advice to Senior ManagementPeople who come with experiences that are not gained at Accenture are extremely valuable-listen to them when they are unhappy or giving advice. Stop exploiting people because you are giving them the Accenture brand in return-Gen Y doesn't care about that anymore. With prices rising, to maintain the clothes, outlook and reputation that Accenture employees are required to, pay them enough.

wrong side of IT

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
Sydney

I worked at Accenture full-time for less than a year

Pros-10k training spent on me upon joining
- low hierarchy
- decent new start pay
- great starting bonus
- work laptop
- large projects
- lots of diversity
- consulting firm
- great brand
- its Accenture

Cons-training was completely useless and not relevant, took it as a semi paid holiday
- no one listens to you anyway, no bottoms ups.
- work 12-14 hours days, including weekends. actual pay lower than McDonalds
- starting bonus 50% went into taxes
- low performance laptop, even the slowest computer at home is faster than ACN's laptop
- do mundane stuff all day in large projects
- lots of people never done IT managing IT projects
- lots of inefficient work, long hours but little done, or value added.
- people in the IT industry all look down at you
- too much bad reviews on accenture, just look it up,
- i have yet to met one person who loves their job at accenture.

Advice to Senior Managementeither i got tricked in joining this company, or they completely failed to explain what exactly really goes on inside accenture.
