Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Accenture full-time for less than a year

Pros-10k training spent on me upon joining
- low hierarchy
- decent new start pay
- great starting bonus
- work laptop
- large projects
- lots of diversity
- consulting firm
- great brand
- its Accenture

Cons-training was completely useless and not relevant, took it as a semi paid holiday
- no one listens to you anyway, no bottoms ups.
- work 12-14 hours days, including weekends. actual pay lower than McDonalds
- starting bonus 50% went into taxes
- low performance laptop, even the slowest computer at home is faster than ACN's laptop
- do mundane stuff all day in large projects
- lots of people never done IT managing IT projects
- lots of inefficient work, long hours but little done, or value added.
- people in the IT industry all look down at you
- too much bad reviews on accenture, just look it up,
- i have yet to met one person who loves their job at accenture.

Advice to Senior Managementeither i got tricked in joining this company, or they completely failed to explain what exactly really goes on inside accenture.

Great place to learn and grow

Systems Integration Consultant (Current Employee)
Sydney

I have been working at Accenture full-time for more than a year

Pros- highly ambitious, skilled crowd looking to exceed expectations
- great variety of roles to upskill in multiple areas
- a chance to try anything and everything
- Incredible networking opportunities
- second to none education courses (online and live)

Cons- if you're not strong and stick to your guns you will be taken advantage of
- Can end up working insane hours
- lack of respect for personal life by many in upper management
- junior members taken advantage of with dangling carrots of promotions and bonuses

Advice to Senior Management- Understand what drives and motives your people, as they're not all like you
- Spend the extra few $$$ from central budget to support simple services such as PC Backup rather than pushing the cost onto projects

Continually busy, trying to open new doors

Senior Consultant (Current Employee)
Brisbane

I have been working at Accenture full-time for more than a year

ProsAccenture has a strong people culture which is very positive. The projects you work on are generally very large which presents unique challenges.

ConsLike any consulting company its available projects do not always match your skill set so prepare to spend time on an area that isn't of huge interest (if you are not lucky)

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up a great job.

Lots of opportunities but at risk of getting too big, complex and bureaucratic

Partner (Former Employee)
Sydney

I worked at Accenture full-time for more than 10 years

ProsDiversity of clients.
Interesting and challenging work.
Generally good people.
Lots of opportunities to learn and progress
Great training.

ConsGetting too big, complex and bureaucratic. Easy to get caught up in the internal power plays and politics, particularly at senior levels, at the expense of client value delivery.

Advice to Senior ManagementGetting senior leadership to live the organisational values consistently, not just repeating the sweet words and behaving very differently to those words and values.

Still a Good Company, but was better in the past years..and much better in the last decade

Manager (Current Employee)
Sydney

I have been working at Accenture full-time for more than 10 years

ProsGreat place to work and (usually) great people

ConsWorking in is becoming harder YoY, not because of the hard work, but because of the increasing internal complexity and redundancies

Advice to Senior ManagementThe amount of Great people still not valued - by management and processes - increases YoY

Accenture Company Review

Analyst (Current Employee)
Brisbane

I have been working at Accenture full-time for more than a year

ProsAt Accenture you can have opportunities to learn while working on projects. People are good and competent. They help you if required. Also there are lot of online resources build for Accenture employess to get help on project works and online communities of interest as well, where you can ask specific questions and if someone has worked on a similar project before they can guide you and share their experience with you. The workforces like Consulting and Solutions and may be Enterprise is better in terms of career growth and opportunities, so are better for a career at Accenture.

ConsI work for Services Workforce and have found that there is no formal career growth process for Services workforce in improving their level in the heirarchy. The only possibility for Services people is to find new positions in the same workforce at a higher level and go through an interview process and approvals to move to a next level.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake care of the career growth of Services workforce and facilitate Service people to move to next levels.
