ProsGood work culture

Cons- Excess restrictions on internet censoring in India which is not there in other parts of the world for same company
- Excess preaching for professional behaviour in India which I feel is too much for an MNC

Work life balance is not good. Specially when you have familly
Lot of pressure during the project from the management

Advice to Senior ManagementYou must listen more to the concern of the employees specially about work life balance
In some project the Management put too much pressure. Perhaps it's better to think about having more experienced ressource when people are late in the deliveries

ProsHuge company, world wide experience is possible to get here.

ConsPromotions are done based on how many hands you kiss and not by the talent you might have.

Advice to Senior ManagementLess hand kiss & more proactive skills.

Pros-Learning experience. 1 year at ACN could easily be equivalent to 2-3 years elsewhere
-Plenty of role differentiation. You can move projects, and also to different roles within projects
-People: Everyone is smart, you can learn a whole lot from consultants and managers
-Opportunities to do great things like travel to Everest, do consulting work in developing nations

Cons-Compensation not as high as market
-Although it means plenty of learning, sometimes you can get stuck doing tasks that your manager / someone else is doing

Advice to Senior ManagementWould be great to set up open office times once a week.

ProsThere is a clearly defined career path for everyone and every year there is an annual review which allows all employees to be judged somewhat fairly against each other for promotions and such, rather than having to wait for someone else to quit. From my experience, all the people I have worked with are great, there is plenty of diversity (males and females, all nationalities) and everyone is bright and ambitious so making friends isn't too difficult.

ConsWork-life balance isn't as valued in Accenture as one would hope, although this is the price you pay as a consultant in most companies I'm sure. Accenture does not fund sporting teams or events and the amount of free time you will have depends on what project you get and the people you work with.

Advice to Senior ManagementPut some focus into developing a closer community through social events and sports. This will make employees in the company closer together and lower the high turnover rate.

ProsAccenture Australia:
- Brand
- Training opportunities
- Access to internal and 3rd party knowledge
- Strong market position and reputation in Systems Integration

ConsAccenture Australia:
- Moving more and more towards the bodyshop model (eg. putting management consultants on systems integration projects)
- Poor comparative compensation and benefits
- Poor talent acquisition and retention; reflected in top-heavy hierarchy and shallow pool of talented analysts
- Lack of credentials in the management consulting space compared to other geographies
- Quality internal services increasingly disappearing and/or moving to Dalian
- Chargeability more important than employee growth and satisfaction

Advice to Senior ManagementAccenture Australia:
Be honest with your people. It's one thing to be up-front about the fact that you're unlikely to be doing real consulting work, but completely another to be told you'll be leveraging and growing your core skills only to be placed on projects that have absolutely nothing to do with your skillset.
