I worked at Accountemps full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Great co-workers, offering a professional service that is value-driven and easy to sell.

    Cons

10.5 hour days with no lunch while we sell "work/life balance" to clients. Base pay is so low (with no commission guarantee) that true professionals and family people (anyone other than a recent college grad) can't afford to take it. It takes over a year to make real money. Hence there is a ton of turnover.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide some type of commission guarantee for the first 9-12 months so you can get high-end people who will stay.

I worked at Accountemps full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I learned many new things while consulting as an accountant. My recruiters were wonderful, communicative and listened to what I had to say every time.

    Cons

If you don't interview well, or don't like having a fast paced, dynamic work environment, then consulting isn't for you. I averaged 4 months per project and had to start working from day 1. There was rarely time for formal training, which was the nature of my position. I loved it, many may not.

    Pros

Friendly, supportive caring staff. Not just about the bottom line, they actually want what's best for you too

    Cons

Nothing really, just the ones you would expect from a temp agency, so no complaints

I have been working at Accountemps as a contractor

    Pros

They seem to care whether or not they find a position for you. The interview process was thorough. My contact person appeared to want me connected with the position that is best suited for me.

    Cons

The pay levels are not consistent for the same type of work. I would've liked to have been put to work the next day, however that wasn't possible.

I worked at Accountemps as a contractor (more than 5 years)

    Pros

I enjoyed the breadth of experiences and it confirmed many of my expectations.

    Cons

None really, it is just a temp agency and it was all I expected.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Considering what they do, I don't think they can do it better.
Basically, I think they are the best of a (other temp agencies) a rather bad lot.

I have been working at Accountemps full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Exposure to a diverse client base. Great introduction to some of the local business community.

    Cons

The first assignment I was on was so enjoyable that I was sad it had to end. I
worked with some exceptionally talented colleagues and completed a difficult project in
less than the expected time. I was there for about 5 weeks and enjoyed a free exchange of knowledge and experience in completing the task with my co-workers. There were hugs all around when my team and I finished the project, and we even celebrated by going out for a beer! However, on my second assignment, I was sent into an extremely toxic and hostile environment to do menial labor (processing accounts payable) and feel emotionally battered by the Jekyll and Hyde management techniques which I was exposed to. As a CPA, I consider myself a respectable person, and feel degraded by this recent experience. As a kicker, the toxic company is dragging its feet on payment. I am on the fence about accepting another assignment with Accountemps.
