Overall great place to work but you have to know someone to work there

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Alliance Resource full-time for more than 5 years

ProsGreat benefits, nice people, stable company with good CEO leadership

ConsCompany has a tendency to look the other way with bad employees. The HR department is a good example. You have to be related to or be friends with one or two people to get a job. The company at large has a similar feel

Advice to Senior ManagementHire more people from outside. No one feels they can say anything about a bad employee who only got a job because they know someone

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Great company that really cares about their workers!

Systems Analyst (Former Employee)
Tulsa, OK (US)

I worked at Alliance Resource full-time for less than a year

ProsGreat company in good shape. The president is a no nonsense, good ol'boy that really cares about his employees. In addition to good pay, their benefits package is awesome! They have a doctor on-site for all employees, staff and dependents that doesn't cost a dime.

ConsSome practices are a little too old school. Lots of resistance to modernizing business practices

Advice to Senior ManagementCome into the modern, digital age.

Lack of Management

IT Manager (Former Employee)
Tulsa, OK (US)

I worked at Alliance Resource

ProsHighly profitable business operation. Field operations very competent.

ConsCorporate management - especially CFO - have no management skills. IT is placed under the CFO's charge and he should be let go for "dereliction of duty"

Advice to Senior ManagementTake IT away form the CFO and it will be able to become a viable area to work in at Alliance. The CFO is a figurehead for the investment community and has no business managing people.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
